Jason Mineral Natural Sunblock Review

Pros: Amazing sun protection, matte
Cons: Thick, have to double cleanse to get off

I bought this sunblock after mmmanny hours of research. I wanted something that would COMPLETELY block the sun because I use Retin-A and many sunscreens are actually ineffective and let you burn.   This is a sunBLOCK and it does what it says. Not a spot of colour. I feel confident using this and Retin-A at the same time.   Note though, because it is a BLOCK, it goes on quite thick. Meaning it may be a bit tough to put it on like you would a moisturizer. Instead my technique is to put a dab on your finger and pat your cheeks, nose, and forehead until it is all evenly distributed.   Pro: Once it's on, it's on. The water beads off, you don't sweat it off. It's MATTE (love that), and for me it's noncomodegenic (although it... » read more

Kerastase Resistance Ciment Thermique Review

Pros: It WORKS!
Cons: cost

I'm in my mid-forties and love my longish-hair despite the fact that I read everywhere that women in their forties shouldn't have long hair. I do my best to make my hair look as good as possible every day so that I don't worry so much about what other people think. For a while I was using a straight-iron every day and I damaged my hair which is when I sought out help from a product. I've stopped ironing, but still color treat and blow dry almost daily. I am worried a bit about thinning, particularly on one side, but so far I haven't done anything more than move my part to equalize the volume. I actually came back to this forum so I can try to see... » read more

Aubrey Organics - Honeysuckle Rose Conditioner Review

Pros: Rich formulation, somewhat hydrating
Cons: Too similar in quality to cheaper brands for price point

In my quest for perfectly performing 4A (and 3C?) spirals, I have tried many a (supposedly) well-built conditioner. While I promised myself to stick to KISS a few months back on my grow-out process, I made the mistake of perusing some threads on NaturallyCurly's forums. Big mistake. Once again, I am prowling the health food stores, armoured, saddled, bearing a shield and questing for that Holy Grail conditioner.   Why.   Why.   WHY?   Well, what I found (at VitaminShoppe for about $10.49) was a well built conditioner; I'd read wonders about Aubrey Organics among women of all hair types, but this one was supposed to be a shoe-in for dryer / tightly coiled strands. In my awesome lack of ability to learn from previous... » read more
