Smile Re: Been depressed for a long time. Please help with acne problem.

Hello young man!
I am sorry to hear that you are depressed over the condition of your skin.
First of all, in order to "get rid" of the acne, you have to have a consistent skin care routine with the right products for your skin's needs and not one that you use just a couple times a week. Skin care for those with oily problem skin such as yours is an ongoing process and one that needs extra attention to begin the healing process as well as maintain it. Stopping a good skin care routine allows the condition of the skin to reverse itself back to the original problems.
Follow the steps below faithfully to see your skin's condition improve dramatically.
1. Drink water whenever you are thirsty since it will help to maintain the moisture level not only in your body but in the skin on your face.
2. Use the appropriate products rated for your skin type (oily) and condition (acne prone).
3. Use the products in the order they are given.
A. Wash your face with a soft cloth or with your hands using an oil free foaming cleanser am and pm and whenever you may sweat or use oil blotting wipes in between. (Be aware that scrubbing vigorously may cause more oil production which you don't want.)
B. Use a clay based mask pm three times a week for a month (This will clean the pores of oils and dirt) After a month go to twice a week.
C. Use an oil free exfoliator twice a week pm to keep dead skin cells away from the pores. This will also help the skin cells to repair themselves faster.
D. Lastly apply an oil free moisturizer to keep the skin cells from turning over so quickly to become debris on your skin. (Oil and moisture are two different things. Having oily skin does not mean that you have enough moisture in your skin.) Also, your moisturizer should have SPF in it to prevent the radiation from damaging your skin. As a rule radiation damage is not seen with the naked eye, so it can be there and you not know it so always apply moisturizer or sunscreen when going out of doors.
This is a simple regimen to follow and should help get things moving. But please be consistent in order to see results.
As far as the dent and marks on your skin, there is not a product that will help (over the counter) that I know of. However, once you get contol of the acne, you may want to look into dermabrasion. Talk to a specialist first to see if it will do the trick.
