| Re: is any skin lightener permanent?
I've heard of this stuff called methyl arbutin. It's supposed to be permanent but I'm not sure about the safety. Regular Arbutin is a less powerful form of methyl arbutin, it's the stuff they use in Fair & flawless, which is why F&F is not permanent. This site I went on had stuff about how "Arbutin inhibits the formation of melanin pigment by inhibiting Tyrosinase activity which makes it a permanent lightener but doesn't have the nasty side effect of Hydroquine". I can't tell wheter or not that statement is based on Arbutin or Methyl Arbutin. One thing's for sure I am not going to use ANYTHING until I am 100% sure that it's safe. I wouldn't want to use something only to end up with cancer or something a few years later. I also don't want to buy mutliple products. So I'm going to keep researching this methyl arbutin and see what I come up with.
