I started noticing about 3-4 months ago that the normally faint lines on my hands and feet are very VERY pronounced and deep and when I pull the skin on the back of my hands gently and watch it release, it is slow to return, i.e. it doesn't 'snap' back like it's supposed to. Additionally my skin used to peel and was very very dry. The skin on my skin on my legs and arms is not firm and appears shiny dry, cracked and flakey. I don't know if this is related but if I sit cross legged, or bend my elbow or wrists even for a short while the joints begin to ache. That and I have very clicky thumbs.

I believe these are tell-tale signs of premature aging. I've never smoked, I don't drink, never sunbathe let alone swim but I am starting to think that my poor diet, high stress and irregular sleep schedule during university term may be to blame. I have just completed the second year of university, which I found very intense. I pulled MANY allnighters to finish coursework, ate very little and worked constantly thoughout the week.

I apologise if this doesn't sound a very severe problem as it is self inflicted, but it is really taking its toll on me (I am crying as I write this). I have become very depressed I never go out and socialize and don't bother to take care of myself anymore. I take showers and change in the dark and don't even look in mirrors. I'm too embarassed to show my hands in public even. I have lost all of my self- confidence.

I would appreciate any advice on how I can revive my skin,

Thank you very much

Get at least 8 hours of sleep and your wellness/wellbeing is more important than your education. Eat vegetables and fruits and take multi vitamins to fight stress. Drink tea. Have a massage once or three times a month. Drink no less than 8 glasses of water everyday. No sodas please. No junk foods. Just real foods. No white bread but whole grains and drink non fat milk.

Use whitening lotion with sunblock before going out rain or shine. Use face creams on your face with sunblock too. Wear nicer clothes, nice jewelry and think possitive.

All these things are easy to do and costs so much less than any other treatment you get from dermatologists.

Try soaking your body in a bath tub everyday for one to 2 or 3 hours if you have nothing else to do. Use dove soap. Meditate. Exercise.

Don't forget to laugh a lot and listen to nice songs and watch nice movies and travel to nice places...

Seeing something new is invigorating and refreshing...
