anti aging products

This is a message from another member that was sent to me by mistake:

-------------

I have ultra-fair skin, and only recently began having
trouble with my complexion (facial lines, freckles,
and blotchiness), but it's progressing at an alarming
rate! My doctor basically brushed off my concerns,
but said that I could use a stronger Sun Block and try
a Retinol cream. I would like to try Retinol, but
don't want to spend a fortune, especially before I
know how I like it.

My local supermarket carries ROC "Deep Wrinkle", and
two lines by Neutrogena, "Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle
Intensive" and "Advanced Solutions Skin Transforming
Complex". Have any of you tried those brands, and
which one do you think is more effective? If neither,
what brand do you suggest?

Also, both brands come in Day Cream, Night Cream, and
Serum versions. Which do you recommend?

I also came across an Internet company called Young
Again,
http://www.youngagain.com/retcream60iu.html , that's
selling a 1% Retinol cream at only $12 for 2oz. They
say their cream is actually purer than the more
expensive brands, because it doesn't contain
exfolient. Have any of you tried/heard of their
products? And were you satisfied?

Thank you!
Colleen

Re: anti aging products

Hi Colleen
I use avene gel. It has retinaldehyde in it which is meant to be more potent than retinol. Retinol converts to retinaldehyde in the skin or something so avene skips that first step and delivers retinaldehyde straight to the skin. Hope that makes sense? Ive used the neutrogena one but i dont know if its really got enough retinol in it to give any benefits.

Re: anti aging products

Retinol is a really weak form of Retin A, so products contain it do not have clinical levels. which means you wll not get the results that you are looking for.

Retinol/Retinyl

Actually, after having researched it, I have decided to mix my OWN Retinyl cream. You can control the % that way, and you know it's going to be FRESH. (Reinyl is very perishible.) Of course, it's also MUCH less expensive!!

Re: anti aging products

try natural products like shea butter and olive oil. both are good on fighting aging. I'm 27 and I use it on myself and daughter. my friends mom used shea butter at age 23 and she looks great. she told me to get all natural products not Over the counters that advertise but only have 5% shea or olive oil in them. I use Jai Ema's skincare line. the whipped shea butter is 98% shea butter the rest is olive oil aloe vera grape seed oil and aloe vera. I wash with Dove and apply the whipped shea to body and
100% shea to face. mostly I use the whipped shea bc its just like butter and goes on easy. it starts off greasey but absorbs within 10 mins. a little goes a long way. my friends mom got me hooked and now I boast about it every chance I get. it also helps with dark spots and is good in preventing stetch marks during pregnancy. my friend used it only on her tummy and didn't get on stetch mark.

Re: anti aging products

There are various key ingredients in anti-wrinkle creams: Tretinoin and Retinols, anti-oxidants, hydroxy acids, etc. Choose creams with the proper ingredients for more effective wrinkle removal.

I would highly recommend looking for creams with specific peptides that prevent the shrinkage ability of the muscle and cause renewal of collagen and elastin which are a strong factor regarding the foundation of the skin.

Hello Skin Care experts~~would this be the right place to begin a discussoin about LED light Therapy? I know of a couple of Lumiere Light Therapie devices that are for sale; I have used the device and like it. I think the devices just need to find the right home. Please advise, Thank you, Rush

Re: anti aging products

I have used a combination of getting photofacials and DeLeon Anti-Aging Cream. They have a skin lightening cream that works great (bought it through my dermatologist, but then found it by googling deleon anti-aging. You must also use sunscreen everyday and I like this line b/c it's in their day cream.

Re: anti aging products

One of the reason I stopped using products that chemical based is becuase I noticed my skin bacame dry, got fine lines, dull and the natural moisture was stripped off.

I switched couple years ago and found the answer to my anti-aging problems. THe chemical stuff they put in our skin care products most of the time clogged our pores and remove the natural moisture/oil of our skin. Thus sometimes you will see poeple that's got a lot of wrinles all over the face and ag spots that they can't hide anymore.

Believe it or not, I dont use soap on my face unless I had a make up on and have to remove it before I go t sleep and wash my face. I use soap that's natural and if I dont have make up on I just splash my face with water.

Use product that fits your skin or age and get a mask, exfoliant, serum, leanser and dont forget work the inside also dietary supplement. Products with Hyaluronic Acid, Bluberry(antiozidant) and Collagen are great for antiaging. We can't stop the aging but remember that we can delay it or prevent the premature aging.

Hope this will help.
