Re: Facial Exercise for firming and adding volume

Hi, Has anyone tried out this facefitnesscenter website? What about Annelise Hagen and her exercises? I've found some videos here on howdini dot com

Fawnie, could you have a look and tell me if she also uses resistance? I can't afford to buy any programme right now but am keen to start face exercises mainly to pump up my cheeks.

Re: Facial Exercise for firming and adding volume

Make sure they are RESISTANCE exercises, otherwise you're just wasting your time. Sort of like lifting a 2 oz dumbell all day....you'll not gain any muscle that way, but if you do the exercise against some resistance you will notice a big change.

Re: Facial Exercise for firming and adding volume

Hi, I have a question about my tissues. Sometimes they feel firm and sometimes they feel week, but everyday I do the same exercises and massage. The weakness (less tight skin) can occur any time of the day at any temperature. I have no idea how I can improve this, to make my skin feel tight all the time. Does anybody has the same of an idea? Thank you,
Vyent

Re: Facial Exercise for firming and adding volume

Vyent, You didn't mention how long you've been doing the exercises and massages. Sometimes it takes a while for the skin to catch up with the muscle changes and it can feel different at times. Most of us definitely go thru stages in our development.

You could also try varying the exercises. I don't know what program you are doing, but FlexEffect and Ageless If We Dare both have boards that allow you to ask questions of other members and the teachers themselves!

Re: Facial Exercise for firming and adding volume

I've been doing Ageless along with massage and dry brushing now for 10 months and some days my skin too feels and looks tighter and other days it doesn't. I think stress, diet, sleep and lifestyle contribute to this. Even on good days though, the skin on either side of my mouth (mostly the left side) is saggy not as tight as I'd hoped it would be after 10 months of facial exercise, massage and good skin care.

Miriam, how long have you been doing facial exercises and what program do you use? Fawnie, do you think adding another program into my routine to vary it would speed up skin tightening?

Re: Facial Exercise for firming and adding volume

Hey Fawnie - how ya doing girl. Ok another facial exerciser here (and like fawnie I'm doing both Ageless and FlexEffect). I just wanted to correct Fawnie, doing all 40 - there is a cd that does the count for you in 28 minutes - but they often tell you not to do it all in one sitting. On the cd, Deb (FlexEffect creator) says to split it into two workouts, one in the evening, followed by one in the morning I think.

Lou's program is also good (Ageless), but Lou originally was a trainer of FlexEffect, and I think she designed her program out of frustration with the timing of FlexEffect. It was all a bit mysterious though - I don't know if there was a major fall out or something, as Lou just disappeared without a word, and then a year later Ageless was up and running. She's got a dvd out that is awesome as well. I would say that its best to get both her book and dvd. I was doing it from her book first, and then got the dvd and didn't realise its supposed to be mega more faster than I was doing it.

Both systems have forums, but my only quibble with the Ageless forum is that its really only staffed by Lou (when she is there) whereas on the FlexEffect one there seems to always be trainers about who can guide you. With Ageless its a bit hit and miss if you get responses to your questions, and often its guess work from others doing the workout. But both systems are really good.

I think doing facial exercises has helped me stay off surgery (and luckily I began them almost two years ago and had a lot of damage to reverse) and still when I tell people my age they don't believe me!

Re: Facial Exercise for firming and adding volume

Hey theresmary! thanks for correcting me...I don't do all the exercises of FE on one day, you are correct. I rotate with Ageless and add or subtract according to what's working for me or what I need to work on more. Some exercises (both programs) I adapted for myself and do them in a different way with better results for me.

One of the trainers I love on FE is Loli What awesome skin she has - and she said she used to be a sunbather! Her Cheek Bootcamp is worth trying if you are interested in building some beautiful cheeks!

I love Loli's example, and she says it took over a year to get back her jawline, but my God where does she get those excellent diagrams, they are worth a million words for sure!

Re: Facial Exercise for firming and adding volume

I've been lurking awhile, and Fawnie's been a positive inspiration for me to keep up with these exercises.

6 years ago I was told that they were a waste of time and could do damage - so, unforturnately I stopped. I wish I hadn't because with commitment and patience - over time, they are very effective. I vary my exercises in the morning and evening and they have become a form of meditation.

Thanks Fawnie.

theresmary, will you post a link to the thread with the diagrams? I was looking on another forum and a diagram people were talking about isn't displaying anymore. Drats! I'd love to see a good diagram.

Sparklie, I believe you need to be logged into the FlexEffect forum to see the diagrams that Loli gives. When you buy the program they send you the code for registering on the forums there. It is worth it to get the top-notch guidance and detailed instruction from professional trainers!!

Thank you for your answer. I 've been reading your forum and everytime I come across the comment that the cheek exercise of FaceEffect are worth doing. Since 12 months I do the Facercise of Carole Maggio and I like it very much. Now I read that I have to vary a little, also to make the less firm side of my face better. Should I try FaceEffect from Deb? Or Ageless if you dare. I really need to have a good cheekdeveloper. I am now 50 years of age.

lips adn cheeks
