A head cold? So what did you tell him? Poor lamb, he needs some attention!
Saline/baking soda nasal rinses with a Neti pot, lotsa warm liquids like green tea & chicken soup with cayenne pepper, a warm bath and sleep usually helps! Epicore to prevent them.

| Just ready for it to be over. With all the family stuff it takes up most of our weekends, plus the little one is in his last year of high school and that makes things really busy. Soon enough it will all be over and I will be wishing I could turn back time. You know how it goes.
Thanks for the info on the NL, how often do I have to do these??

| Uhm, is the burn from the friction of rubbing the fingers against the skin, or is the burn supposed to be from the muscles? Just sitting here, I tried rubbing my fingers on the NL lines as per the instructions, and perhaps my skin is sensitive or maybe I'm being a wee tad aggressive --- this borderline hurts! It feels like I need to put some moisturizer on beforehand, so the skin doesn't get dragged on. Or is that what it's supposed to do?! |

The burn from the muscles, Sparklie!
If you are causing too much friction use a lighter touch. The resistance is necessary to build the tissue from within but you shouldn't be causing yourself harm. If you want to use a little oil that's OK but it may cut down on the resistance needed to do the exercise.
It may take a while to get it right - keep practicing!

So, would this also be an applicable exercise to ease marionette lines, as well?!

i'm trying to find a picture of it but came up with this instead:
[quote from site below]Facial posture is a great concept. It means becoming aware of the tension in certain facial muscles and consciously making an attempt to get rid of that tension.
When you're watching the discussion shows on TV, pay attention to the way guests hold their faces. Some have their eyebrows permanently knitted while others slump down in their seats, the fat around their necks causing the jaw line to disappear.
It is possible with practice to develop a facial posture (facial habits) that keeps the muscles of the face and neck stress free. Holding the head high and the facial muscles relaxed will reduce deep expression lines. This has the added benefit of making your mental state more relaxed and stress free.[quote] Expression Lines
I have a habit of squinching my lips together when I'm thinking and this makes those upper lip lines worse. Bad habit!!!

Yes!!! I do that too! And chew my lip. I have to tell myself, "DON'T BITE!!" to make myself stop. It's a good new year's resolution isn't it to stop making these faces!!!
