Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Hi Sandywave, Yes I mentioned that I got my stevia at walmart it's in the diet pills and vitamines- Equality I think is the name and it was 5$ for over 2 cups... and yes I use it - no complaints, it works great. You can mix whatever you need; 1 teaspoon is enough to do your face and neck- and if you want it to work faster give it a saran wrap- even your face( just cut out the holes for eyes, mouth and nose first.

I believe we are kind of pioneers here...Here's what I say, whatever you use, do a patch test first on your arm because I think some people are allergic......Then just make sure what you're using is Stevia extract and nothing else (or if there is something else, you know you are not allergic to it or it doesn't irritate your skin)...Then be a brave soldier and go for it...
I don't think it matters if it's liquid or powder...In fact, I may do an all liquid mask tomorrow and see if I see any difference. I do a daily body scrub in the shower...It makes me glow....

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Hi all. This may seem a bit weired but I am beginning to wonder if all the Stevia use is bad for me.
I have had to be taken to hospital twice over the past two weeks as I have been sooo very ill. I spent yesterday on a drip and am home again today but still feel very week.
Does anybody know if using the Stevia is somehow like eating it? Does it get into your system through your skin?
I have a chronic medical condition and my Specialist has tested me and says I also have Fructose Malabsorption, this means I was born without a certain protein which metabalises Fructose and Fructans.
Anyway to cut a long story short I just read on an American site that Stevia has Fructose in it. I'm not sure about this as my Dietician never mentioned it.

Any thoughts on this?

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

galin, definitely stop using the stevia mask if you are getting ill! Yes, we do absorb products into our bloodstream thru our skin. I'm so sorry this has happened to you, but it's a good lesson to all of us - if you have a systemic allergy or sensitivity to anything, such as a food even, don't use it on your skin.''

feel better galin.

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Thanx fawnie, I just love the effect of the Stevia but I think I'll leave it alone for a month or so and see how I'm feeling.
I suppose it might be just a coincidence, as I have other medical issues, but if we do absorb things through our bloodstream as you say, then I'm better to be safe than sorry.
I'm dissapointed though as I am loving the glow!

Yeah I know fawnie. I didn't even consider it could be the Stevia until it happened the second time.

I think I'm just a slow learner or something!

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Hi skinmind, the advantage is that the stevia stays wet longer and is therefore working longer for you, more concentrated- no elements to work against it. that is all, you can use saran wrap- I do sometimes but not always- I mostly use the saran wrap when I'm working on my stretchmarks.- Hope that clears it up for you!

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

For those of you using Truvia, what kind of consistency are you getting? I tried it, and it's very "chunky", like the crystals aren't dissolving into the water. I did manage to get it on my face, but as it starts to dry, it starts flaking off (a lovely vision, I can assure you; my husband thinks I'm nuts, and my kids say "eeeewww") It does seem to have a tightening effect, and I do notice a "glow", but it's difficult to use like this.

Hi Jenny - I use the Truvia brand and get good results as far as glow and tightening too! It IS chunky and has large crystals, so I just put a packet into a jar lid and with my wet finger I mash it around a little to try to melt it. I put this chunky mixture on my wet face and scrub it around a little and pat it on. As you said, it isn't a pretty sight!! I let in sit for about 20 minutes like this while I soak in the bath. Then with wet hands I rinse most of the chunks off but let a little of the melted stevia stay on to tighten a bit longer. Then I rinse it all off. Darned if it doesn't seem to be tightening and the pores are def smaller!!!

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Tigerlilly, Fawnie, Gymrat, Peri, Mony and others, do you think this is a good stevia produc to use for the face, it already comes as a liquid in a 2 ounce glass dropper bottle so it'll be easier to just add a couple of drops to the face and use as a simple mask everyday, feedback please - http://www.amazon.com/Stevia-Liquid-...611840&sr=1-16

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Hey LNL, I tried the liquid stevia twice- I find that it didn't do the job as good as the powdered. Maybe it isn't as strong? but you'll be putting it on straight so that would most likely make up the big diffrence. At that price what have you got to loose? I would try it. especially straight... Let us know what you think of it.

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and LOVING it! I'm 41 and not in terrible shape but just can't stand to see the outside getting further and further from the 'inside'. SO I found this thread and went out and bought the pure liquid Stevia form and have it on for the first time as I type. I guess I didn't read far enough in the thread to see that others are having better luck with the powder than the liquid ... guess a trip to Walmart is in my future tomorrow. Ok ... so I see that some people are mixing it with yogurt (as in just plain yogurt) and apple cider vinegar ... wonder if adding some of this liquid form to that mixture would make a difference or if liquid C might help. Any thoughts?

By the way, thank you all for all of your knowledge! I am learning much from all of you on this battle agianst father times march across my face.
