I wish using Stevia as a wrinkle reducer was all it took!!
The book basically tells you that you need to eat a good diet ...lots of fruits & veggies. It didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know. In other words common sense approach to food taking into account the anti-oxidants in our foods and supplements. I would check your library if you want to read it...I wouldn't go out and buy the book. I don't like the after taste of Stevia so I wouldn't buy it for that reason.....and I wasn't crazy about the mask either..it didn't WOW me.

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Great Tip! Thanks! I've never heard of stevia but can't wait to try it. I googled 'stevia" and skin care and found lots of info about this.

I grew a plant of it last year in the garden, that stuff is amazing in ice tea, and almost everything- great for a sweet tooth!

I had some liquid Stevia and decided to give it a whirl...Well, I'm not one with a lot of wrinkles (virtually none), BUT this stuff does tighten your skin...for how long I don't know...
Anyway, I emailed my friend and she said I should keep using it daily, to leave it on my face (like a mask) for 30 minutes or more and I will have BEEEYOOOTAYFUL skin...Pffft...We'll see (and yeah, I'm gonna do it). What I can say for now is that it does work as a temporary (?) tightener...If nothing else, I will use it for that....
This is good for me because I do not like the taste of Stevia (I prefer Agave nectar), so at least some of that stuff isn't going to waste.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass it along for those who want to give it a try...
I have agave as well. I tend to use too much.
The Stevia sounds interesting. Newbie question alert: AM after cleansing/moisturizing? Is there any residue? Thanks for the idea!

I wanna be a good lookin' biotch too!

Felt the same, did it last evening, it's sticky, and dries the skin!

Thanks Toni! That's the book I was talking about, I'm 99% sure. I think it's either in that book or one of the articles someone linked to earlier that says to do the Stevia mask thing for 30 days. I'm assuming the implication is there is a cumulative effect? We'll see....Unless that is the case, I'll most likely use the Stevia mask occasionally (probably mostly in the summer when my skin is oily) as a temporary skin tightener for special occasions...I'm still planning to do the 30 experiment though. I haven't put on my 2nd day mask yet, but I did notice my skin looked pretty good today following my 1st application. However, I could just be having a 'good skin day' which sometimes happens inexplicably (not that I'm complaining...LOVE those days), so I wouldn't give too much credit to the Stevia mask yet. I will say, though, I think I still feel a bit of tightness, not 100% sure it's Stevia related, though....

I'm not sure it matters if it's AM or PM. I will try to find out though. I would think it's best to put it on clean skin before moisturizing, but I'm just guessing there. That's what I did. My Stevia mask rinsed off pretty easily with no noticeable residue. It is sticky (think glazed donut sticky) when it's on your face though not the most pleasant type of mask, but it didn't bother me at all...If nothing else, it's a good temporary (?) tightener even after I put my retinol cream on...I'm going to do the 30 day program and update as I go...

My skin tends to be drier in the winter so perhaps it wasn't a good idea for me to use it then. I find I need more of a moisturizing mask. Hope it works for you...keep us posted.

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

well I ran to my health foods store to buy some MORE oils and things and told the woman there about the stevia. she handed me several sample packets and said to let her know how it goes. I need to read up. I think I have too many irons in the fire here and I don't want to put the greens powder on my face (a health regimen I have begun) - or mix the stevia in with my breakfast akalinizing drink!

I will start my stevia mask tomorrow while mixing my greens powder health drink and waiting for the vit c serum to dissolve in the vodka. I want to see how the serum is after the mask!! I will wait about 20 mins before applying tho.

Stevia as a smoothing mask. How did they discover that??

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Ok, I did my second mask today and I'm cautiously optimistic. It does seem to tighten and give me a bit of a glow, makes my skin feel smooth... and so far no dryness! However, I live in Ga. It's warm and humid here in general (which makes my combination skin oilier than normal). Plus lately we've been having TONS of rain, so my skin is a bit oily. I'm not sure the stevia mask wouldn't be too drying in the winter, but so far, so good. I like it. No miracles to report, but so far it makes my skin look and feel nice. We'll see if that keeps up...(and no, I'm not going to update every day for 30 days, I just wanted to update as far as the dryness issue goes. I think that could be a problem for some, but moisturizing afterwards might solve that issue? Not sure...)
Now that I think about it, even my T zone isn't greasy, so I think it might actually be best for oily or combination skin? I dunno...
I'll update every few days or so, then when 30 days is up, I'll give my honest opinion as to whether this stuff does anything other than temporarily tighten...

I just got this mental picture of you with your hair in a towel, in a bathrobe, hunched over a kettle, stirring madly!! LOL!

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Just a quick update....
I'm still doing the Stevia mask (have one on right now) and I think I'm liking the results (e.g. tightening of the skin, a nice glow and a smoothness to the skin). I'm starting to think that it's possible that this mask daily does have a cumulative effect. I'm not 100% sure yet, of course. So far, dryness is not a problem for me. What it does for my skin is nice, but not miraculous. It's subtle, but I do like the way my skin looks as a result. I'm still somewhat skeptical that it can get rid of wrinkles but I wouldn't be surprised if it did have a positive effect on them. I just don't really have enough really visible wrinkles to be the guinea pig for that, but I'll be looking in the magnifying mirror every so often to see if I can tell a difference.

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

Well since I read this yesterday- I tried it, didn't notice a big difference yesterday. My skin did kinda glow though. Kinda nice so I thought I would try it again this morning, ecept this morning I used two packets of the stevia. What goop!!!! what a mess- feels like contact cement, honestly it does.. I left on for half an hour. Now, the question is did it make a difference. Yep it sure did- I guess the first time I didn't use enough. This time I had used a bar of soap ti trace the outline of my face on my miror, (weird thing to do, I know) but I want to see if there would be a difference so I did it,and yes there was (I think) a remarkeable difference even skin at my jaw tightened up! Wow! I'm gonna keep this up to see what it does.. I have combo skin- acnee prone dry and oily...but so far no adverse effects on me, I just put my moisturizer on and I am still amazed... Not to shabby! Whom ever figured this out about stevia deserves a million bucks!!!!!

I'm glad it works for you Mony. Maybe it works better on people with oily/combination skin. Curious to hear from someone with dry/combination...combination in summer (t-zone) and dry in winters.

Yep, well I did it again this morning, my face lloks better. I tried it last night on my mother, she was in awe! she is 65 yrs old and worked outside for yrs before the sunblock issue came out. Plenty of wrinkles and discoloration, mot to mention loose skin. But Mom could not get over how much tighter her skin looked, it did take a good 5 yrs off her face... Now she wants more stevia! ( I gave her half my boxe!)

Mony are you using the liquid stevia or powder mixed with water?

I use three packs of the powder mixed with warm water- turns to contact cement on the face really fast.

Re: Stevia, a sweet wrinkle reducer?

about half an hour- I guess you could leave it on longer cause yesterday I actually forgot I had it on.... started to remove flooring when I went to have a cigarette that's when I noticed it ( Ha !! I couldn't open my mouth, so I went and rinsed it off and followed up with moisturizer. No bad repercusions and I do have somewhat sensitive skin.
