I am new to the forum, & I've been reading about Stevia, which we have never heard of in South Africa. I have searched Walmart's & Amazon's site, but nothing comes up expect a book and the sweetener. Does it have a different brand name? Please can anyone help me.
thanks, Ellie

It seems those sellers are from channel Islands and Scotland...Does that mean it's only banned in England and other part of the UK are exempt from this ban?? It's strange they would ban something like that while canabis is legal... Anyway, I guess it doesn't matter as long as I get to buy it somehow...lol

I totally agree with Angel, if things like cannabis is legal then y a natural and remarkable sweetener like stevia is banned here in the UK! |

| | Re: Stevia Bella, you might be right but it was downgraded to a C-class drug (legal) a few years ago but according to wikipedia, sometimes in january this year, it was reclassified as a B-clas drug; meaning from January this year, cannabis is illegal in the UK...
But that doesn't explain why a perfectly herbal substance like Stevia, with no known side-effects should be banned...

Hey girls,
Although stevia is banned here in the UK, the following site is selling it and the company states that it will sell stevia as long as it's not for human consumption!
Anyway, please check link below and see what you make of it: Stevia Powder - 250g Natural Sweetener : www.TheSuperFoodCo.co.uk!- The Superfood People

i am a compounding pharmacy technician, i use stevia in all of my oral suspensions for everyone from infant to the elderly. i have the pure stuff though. it is very light and the fda said it was safe for compounding medicines. if you use too much it makes things taste nasty. you only need a little bit to sweeten drinks. the only way i can see it dangerous is if you inhale the powder which is so micronized it floats into the air. i can't sell it but i know the us has it at natural pharmacies and all natural stores. it doesn't leave an after taste.
