There are any number of good over-the-counter products out there, but you'll have to experiment around to find something that will work for you. You might consider a dermatologist. I see one regularly.

I have an idea abou tusing anti aging skin products other than lotion. Because even oil free lotion can irritate the sensitive skin. Try to look for toners and cleasers. Bath or spa products can be considered if you did find themt causing any trouble. You can regulate your diet too, for what's outside shows what inside. And regarding shopping, asking for samples before spending anything. GOOD LUCK~~~ |

Oils in a cream aren't BAD! They are actually GOOD for you. Look up the benefits of Coconut Oil e.g. and as We from Oz know, macadamia oil, and our granma's rosehip oil (Oh, get onto this everyone!). Never think that because a product has oils in it, it's bad for oily skin. Break the myth! The actual fact is: oils in a cream fool the skin into thinking it's making oils, and actually set about a PH balance ... The creams I make do not honor the generation gap one bit! It's all about balance and harmony ... inside and out. There are primary and intrinsic elements in a cream that help maintain moisture in the skin whilst feeding a package of necessary vitamins and minerals and fatty acids to aid what our bodies are already geared for. It's also good to follow your dream, whatever that may be ... the soul loves to glow ya know! Lulu |

I'm currently trying the philosophy line(purity cleanser and hope in a jar moisturizer) purchased from sephora. heard a lot of good things about this line, so far so good on my skin. if you have a sephora near by you should go in and get samples, I got a whole bunch from different skin care lines(all name brands). just tell the person your skin dilemmas and they'll try to help you with different samples. I just love that store. good luck.

It is realy cute how most of the people answer. I will answer you, as I am one of the authorities on skin care treatments and products. I own a specialized skin clinic in Miami, and happend to have come upon this forum. I felt compelt to answer some of the questions. So I would like to know everithing that you are doind for your skin from the moment you get up. Then I want to know what soap you are using to wash your face with. Then I want to know if you go to the bathroom regularly, on a daily basis. What is your diet like? Are you taking any medication and any antidepresents? So if you can honestly answer my questions I can help you with your proble. See the skin and what hapeneds to it is the end result, of what is going on in your sistem internaly. So we have to find the reason to why you are braking out from any products? We have to find the core of the problem, then we will be able to find the cure. If you wish you can contact me via e mail or you can contact me via my web site that is restylanemiami and then just add the word com after restylanemiami.

Hey. I would definitely see a dermatololgist. It's true, there are all sorts of reasons why your skin could be breaking out, although diet (gasp!) is generally not considered to be a factor in true acne vulgaris. Talk to a specialist and then proceed. You could spend a lot a lot of money on many jars with promises attached and still not be "cured" or happy. Before you do that, makes sense to find out why you are breaking out first, right? Also, I would not use "soap" on your skin. Try a gentle, non-soap cleansers such as Cetaphil or Cerave. Much kinder. They won't strip your skin of its natural moisture, leaving it dry and tight, which can sometimes trigger your skin to, paradoxically enough, produce even more oil to replace what was stripped away. Applying oily creams and lotions to the skin can be very comedogenic for some skin types. The test of a good moisturizer is how well it maintains the water content of the skin. So never dry your skin totally (facial skin a/w/a total body) after cleansing and apply moisturizer to still damp skin to keep that H20 sealed in. Peace out, Violet. |

...talking about cake on face, violet ... lol! Not such a bad idea ... you sound very cool ... there are things in the pantry that are great for the skin! Lickable stuff! Oatmeal packs are very gentle. Yoghurt is gentle. Honey is gentle. Mix em up and pack them on and splash them off and then use a rosewater toner. Then use my cream! Jessica, I make a cream that is well known here in a certain part of Oz - it prevents and heals breakouts. I use only natural oils (yes oils!!!) and waters (lots of them in proportion) and then my secret formula of essentials. All the kids here have tested them with great results. I have friends in their forties who still get breakouts, and they won't use anything else. As I keep saying, marketing and commercial products are negating a lot of home truths. Aloe vera gel=good. Rosehip oil=good. Knowing how to blend a potion=magic. Maybe Imbalinka (am I cute too?) can help you with the rest. A lot of problems stem from our digestive system, and the acid/alkaline state of the system. Central nervous system important too. Meditation and visualisation and creativity are also great friends for the skin. Maybe get your hormone levels checked. A good medical is always sensible anyway. Food allergy testing too. There maybe something in your diet that does not suit you. Why are people so scared of oils around here? Flaxseed taken internally is fantastic, like coconut oil and olive oil and macadamia nut oil and jojobba and rosehip etc. Just multiply the water intake heaps! Listen to a very young 50-something year old, you cuties! People never pick my age. I love telling people how old I am ... and I certainly don't feel it either. Does someone wanna throw a pie in my face? Make it mango please ... lots of cream ... and some eggwhite to follow. And a nice man to lick it off ...lol! |

And to Burrell2 ... yes Vitamin B is great internally and externally, especially in conjunction with Vit C (found in dollops in rosehip oil). It also helps to combine vitamins with minerals to ensure absorption. Which is why some creams work and others don't. Look for creams that are loaded with goodies mother nature supplies and the lovely alchemists know how to combine. All the best to everyone here! Lulu |

yes, I've tried all of the vitasoaps now! I love them, I can actually tell a difference. I'll remember the tips on those creams, I remember seeing something else on the vitamin c and rosehips.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | natural skin care It might not be the moisturizer that is making you break out - it could be some of the chemicals in the products. It's hard to know for sure, but I've knows a lot of people who are sensitive to products for this reason. There are a lot of natural skin firming and skin rejuvenating options you could try, and see if it makes a difference. Fruit and lactic acids exfoliate the skin really effectively - it's why a lot of products contain these acids. You could try using lemon juice - I like to mix it with plain yogurt and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. Even 2 minutes makes an immediate difference in my skin. If the yogurt is too moisturizing, use the non-fat kind. If you're interested, send me a message and I'll point you to my website which has a lot of home-made skin care recipes that are really effective, but gentle, and good for anyone who is sensitive to over the counter products!
