Help

OK, i really need some help here.l I am 34 years old, my skin especially forehead is dry. I have like 3 lines on each side of my forehead, and since last year i noticed also the frown between my eyebrows...i dont smoke a lot, sometimes i even dont. I have friends over 40 that smoke like crazy and they have no wrinkles at all! nothing! I m sick of wasting money on products...I ve recently tried, and am still using till it finishes...a wrinkle corrector, with Hya, Retina and Biopeptides. I ve changed ranges from Biotherm to Avene, to Comfort Zone (i found them the best) and now Roc. Is there a routine of serums / vitamin c/ moisturiser that i can use? I know i need to hydrate my skin a lot and a lot...but can these lines go away??
Please help...

Re: Help

I think once you start using the Vit C serum with the jojoba oil you will start seeing a change in your skin. Once you do perhaps you can start using a low % of Retin A at night. Also the micro fiber cloth to get the peelies off and exfoliate. Start there and then add more if needed. Drink lots of water if you don't. I do take HA internally and I like it also MSM and a good Multi like Synergy Once Daily.

Re: Help

Thanks goat lady! thanks heaps. I havent been taken any HA internally, i am just using products i buy off the shelf at perfume shops and pharmacies so far, and all i can say is that they contain HA and Retinol. Thats it. but no improovement!! and they are costing me so much.. So i am really looking forward to try the vit c serum now!!

thanks also for telling me about Retin A. Can you buy it anywhere?
also what is MSM and Multi Synergy?
(Sooo sorry for all these questions)At the moment i went to Dr Kassy's thread and i plan to read it from the start to see how i combine the ingredients of the serum, apparently you dont just mix them altogether.

Re: Help

MSM I use this Source Naturals MSM Powder -- 16 oz - Vitacost
Synergy Once Daily Source Naturals MSM Powder -- 16 oz - Vitacost

You can get Retin A from alldaychemist.com they do charge $25 for shipping so get lots when you buy. It is very affordable.

Re: Help

Also Stella DO NOT forget sunscreen. Once you start Vit C serum and Retin A you will really need it. There are many threads here about that also. After applying Vit C I wait about 30 minutes then I use a moisturizer. Now I change up often on this. I had been using Xtend-Life but now I started a new one by Avon. The reviews were outstanding. So far I like it.

Re: Help

Because you smoke it is extra important that you drink plenty of water and also if you can find a really good antioxidant and don't forget to take Vit C orally

Re: Help

The most effective skin care products contain specific active natural ingredients. Some of the best ingredients are essential oils since they penetrate deep into the layers of skin without leaving an oily residue. Some of the best natural oils are Babassu oil, Jojoba oil, Avocado oil and Grapeseed oil. They are all effective at helping to reduce forehead frown lines and other wrinkles on your skin, but stay away from products that contain mineral oils as after prolonged usage, they can dry out your skin.

Grapeseed oil is also a powerful antioxidant. It helps to keep moisture in your skin by creating an invisible film on your skin. It also contains natural vitamin E and is very good for the overall health of your skin.

Reducing forehead frown lines also requires you to increase your levels of collagen and elastin. So you should take a look at products that contains a functional keratin called Cynergy TK

Good luck

Re: Help

thank you all soooo much for your information, i cant express my gratitude enough.
So now i have to make a list of the whole routine, morning and evening, and also oral vitamins.
1) Now the thing is this, recently when i was in italy i went into a pharmacy and she told me the importance of using serums, she gave me a sample, but the whole bottle is 80 euros. Yesterday i went to look at the ingredients, and to my amazement its got LAA and ferulic acid! But only 10% of each, and nothing else from the ingredients listed in the DIY recipe. Any opinions??

2) if i already am using products or serums i bought from pharmacies or perfumeries, shall i finish them first? They do contain retinol, Hyaluronic acid and also biopeptides.

3) OK my job doesnt help, i work on a yacht, i DONT stay out in the sun as i work inside with guests etc...but do change countries a lot, use the airplane too, and also do spend time outside, but am more concenred re wind rather than sun. I do apply sunblock. Any ideas about a very good moisturiser? so far i ve used comfort zone (not sold in shops, solely at beauticians) biotherm (so so), avene (not strong enough) and lately also Roc (not sure yet...i have wrinkle filler and wrinkle corrector, dont know whether they are doing anything, too soon to tell)..
so shall i use a moisturiser with completely different ingredients? maybe just collagen ?

4) Goatlady, what is a good antioxidant, and do you take it in vitamin capsule form?

5) Goatlady, what is MSM and Multi like Synergy? Vitamins i take orally? and is it ok to take also HA internally?? or am i too young? Also shall i try taking collagen capsules internally too?

6) Goatlady sorry it seems like yes Synergy is capsule vitamins, but what about MSM?

7) Mr Smoove, thanks also for your concern! I also need a good moisturiser, not only for my job but also i want something that also lifts my skin! I noticed my skin dropped a bit, and the thing between my eyebrows is more like a drop rather than a wrinkle...so i need something to tighten skin. I will check the keratin you mentioned...maybe if i find a moisturiser i will find one that is really moisturising adn think (i like thick moisturisers) , and also includes keratin and collagen. Cant wait to try all these..

8) Does it matter what kind of cleanser and toner you use too? I like rose water as toner, just plain rose water...cleanser i am using Avene at the mo, and its good, thick, how i like it..
Thanks everyone..look forward for your replies. xxx

Re: Help

Goatlady and Mr Smoove, had a look at X-Tend Life, they sound promising , also cos they have the Cynergy TK in their products. they you recommend it?

Also i was in The Body Shop and they have a new range of face creams, they are organic, they fight wrinkles and they have the ingredient bobossu oil. Would anyone recommend going for Body Shop range for the face??

Thanks!

Re: Help

Bella I would stick with what is well known to work well. For me the DIY C serum and Retin A. Of course the micro-fiber cloth. It seems very basic but trust me I was searching for 3 years and stumbled on this site. I have been here since June and discovered Retin A and the C serum. The change in my skin is dramatic. Start there you will be happy with it. I do like the X-tend life products as a day moisturizer as I have oily skin and this soaks in quick and does not make me oily.

Re: Help

The lowest percent is .025. I started with the .05% which is a little stronger but I had already been doing peels on my skin and thought it could tolerate it well which it did. If you are unsure, get a few tubes in each % work your way up. Not everyone can tolerate RA, but you can also buffer it with a moisturizer. Just take your favorite add a little RA mix well then put on your face. If you get pink/red skip a day or 2. Just work with it.
