| Retin-A and NCN Pro-pumpkin Peel
Those of you who use NCNs Pro-Pumpkin Peel, how long after using it do use your Retin-A? Do you use the Retin-A the next night? I ask this because both are skin removers aren't they? So if you peel your skin should you have some kind of break from your Retin-A?

I just applied the Pumpkin peel today, I will use my RA tomorrow night. The pumpkin peel isn't a peel per se. Your skin doesn't actually "peel" from using it. You get more of a glow/polished look as a result of the pumpkin peel. I think people assume you are going to actually "peel" when you use this and that isn't what happens at all.

Thanks Gym. I worry sometimes that I am applying too many skin "refreshers" to my skin. I use Retin-A (daily), AHA (daily) and Pro-pumpkin Peel (every 2 weeks). Pro-Pumpkin Peel does remove some skin cells doesn't it? Surely it must considering how much it stung. However something in all this must be working because alot of people tell me my skin glows which I find amazing for my age (47) especially considering how my skin was a year ago.

Nanci at NCN told me if you do Retin A to do the Pumpkin Peel just once a month. You will love the glow Melly. I love it.

I use Retin A every 2nd or 3rd night. Sometimes more depending on how my skin feels. I use a AHA/BHA once a week and I use the pumpkin peel once or twice a month. Good for you to be 47 and have such healthy skin. With all the chemicals you are using I hope you use a good sunscreen. You would hate to work so hard at getting your skin in good condition to only have the sun ruin it for ya!!

I have seen the thread on decolletage but I do not think that I want to wear one of those chest things in bed at night or attempt to sleep on my back.

Yes, it is better to be safe than sorry. I just wish they had had SPF when I was a kid. We used to baste ourselves in oil and fry ourselves all day. The future seemed so far away. I wouldn't be repairing as much damage now if I'd had an SPF sunscreen.

I am going to try their Matrixyl 3000 serum next.

Melly I normally use the pumpkin peel on my face and neck. I have been using Vit C serum and RA so those things have made a difference in my skin no doubt about it. Just keep working those areas with those things and the micro fiber cloth and it will get better just remember it takes time.

Ok let me get this clear, if you use Vit C serum and microfiber cloth daily in the mornings (+ moisturiser), and then use the Retin A daily in the evening (+moisturiser), then you use pumpkin peel once every 2 weeks or once a month. So when do you use the HA? and if you use it instead of whatever you re using, what do you replace the HA for? Any opinions about Stevia and how many times a week or month? There are too many things to try out there!

| Re: Retin-A and NCN Pro-pumpkin Peel I use vit C serum and HAs (HAs are incorporated in my eye cream and moisturiser) in the mornings after cleansing and toning and Retin-A in the evenings. All of these are used daily. From now on I'm going to use the Pro-pumpkin Peel once a month because of the HAs and retin-A. I have not used the microfibre cloth or Stevia (thinking about them though). My personal routine goes: Morning 1. cleanser 2. toning (cold tap water) 3. vit C, E ferulic serum 4. moisturiser and eye cream (both with HAs incorporated) Evening 1. cleanser 2. toning (cold tap water) 3. retin-A 4. moisturiser and eye cream (no HAs incorporated) This works for me. Hope this clears up your confusion about when products are used. BTW my routine is ever evolving and constantly subject to change. Last edited by Melly; 12-31-2009 at 09:29 PM. | |

Great Melly! That helps! Good routine. My moisturiser is finishing soon, will try to find one that has HAs. Also was wondering whether i should try the Mad Hippie Repair Butter, dont think it has HAs though, but browsed the thread and people have spoken of successful results. By the way i know what it means living in queensland, i was in oz for 3 years and spent most of the time there I am no better, I live on a little island in the middle of the Med. But i work out at sea.

I am back, was just re-reading the thread of 'mad hippie repair butter'. Someone there said it must be a bit too much if you already use retin-A, and the vit c serum. Should i leave the mad hippie butter out and use a milder moisturiser, or anything else with different ingredients? Someone said that i might be having too many chemicals especially if you are already using the pumpkin peel, the vit c serum, adn retin-A. any opinions? thanks

![]() | Re: Retin-A and NCN Pro-pumpkin Peel PM I use RA 2-3 times a night. After waiting an hour or so I will layer it with a few drops of jojoba. On the off nights of using RA I use the Mad Hippie. You could totally use the Mad Hippie even if you are using RA, there isn't any harm to doing that. It is just really a personal preference on how you go about incorporating the Mad Hippie into your routine. I use the pumpkin peel 1-2 a month. I have always done it this way, and have never had any problems.

Does 'mad hippie' have HA? And can i use mad hippie as a day cream and also night cream ? or is it too much to apply mad hippie everyday both day and night? Shall i alternate with a milder moisturiser? Oh and is mad hippie lifting / does it tighten the skin?
