| | What happened?!
Hi guys,
I'm kind of new to this forum. I've got a question because last sunday i did a 30% glycolic acid peel to myself (I already did 3 peels , also 30%). But it went kind of wrong because right now i got a face full of brown spots, they also feel different than the other skin. It's not dead skin i think, i think they are scabs. Anyway, can somebody help me out? Because i don't really expect this from a 30% glycolic peel, especially not if i've already done it 4 times.
P.S. I did 4 peels already, and i built up the time that i leave it on, first time i did it i left it on 4 minutes, second time 5 minutes, third time 6 minutes and the last time 7 minutes.
So, is it normal to have this? Because i don't hope that i've permanentely scarred my face, or have hyperpigmentation.
Thanks for reading!

I have used 50% before and never had a problem until I started using Retin A then the last time I used it I left it on too long and burned my skin. It did scab up. So if that is what has happened here, I would not put anything strong on my skin. Use some Emu oil, jojoba, sweet almond or even olive oil if you don't have anything else. Do that for a few days and see if that helps. My burned area healed just fine and there is no sign of it now

Hi, thx for the reply!
Well, i don't got those oils, but is the cream from "Lush" called "Dreamcream" okay, because it has many different oils in it, and it is supposed to calm the skin down.
I guess i'll just have to wait then .

I had to look it up/ingredients never heard of it. It sounds good but if it stings wash it off. You just need something soothing and moisturizing right now. Do you have Vit E oil?

No i don't got Vit E oil. So that's a pity, and the shops are closed now to. =\
I really never expected this from a 30% glycolic acid peel though. :P I guess i'll just stick to the cream i use now though :P.
I do got a cream with Vit A, Vit E, and Vit C in it, but it also has 15% glycolic acid in it, and i guess i really should not use that :P.
Thx for helping |

Yes, you could use an antibiotic ointment as long as you aren't allergic to it. Some ppl have reactions to Neosporin. Bactroban is better if you can get it.
Manuka honey is top notch for healing burns of any kind.
Crisco will do in a pinch. Regular not butter flavored!

Hi Cytokine (are you a biologist?)!!
Generally a milder lotion cleanser is better after a peel. Something like Cetaphil is rec by most docs. Here is some after care info: Chemical Peel Aftercare - LoveToKnow Skincare
AVOID THE SUN or you will have darkening!!!

Well, i got a prescription cream from my dermatologist with salicylic acid in it. But it didn't worked out for me (even after 3 months of correct use).
Anyway, the brown spots are almost gone and i got a very nice new skin! It's glowing and healthy and looks great, so no more worries for me .
Thx for the advice you gave me .
