Looking for advice and recommendations

Hi everyone, I'm new here And I wanted to jump rightin and ask for help hehe

I'm looking for skin care advice. I have normal to slightly oily skin, occasional breakouts, and I am prone to blackheads. I have some larger pores around my nose, too. So I'm looking for skincare to help with that. I am also 25, so I'm starting to think about anti-aging, as well.

I know I need a good sunscreen (and if you recommendations for that, that would be great). I know I should also use a retinaldehde orother retinoid - but trying to figure out which products have them and which don't is mind wracking. Same goes for BHA and Vitamin C serum! I feel like Ihave some info but it still hasn't hepled me figure out where to find good products or a good regime.

So does anyone have some recs on products for me? I feel so clueless lol

Thanks everyone

Hi Sidra,

Beautiful starts from the inside. Applying vitamin products to the skin is helpful, but they can penetrate only so far. Your best bet is to count on vitamins taken internally. I have taken Calcium Ascorbate crystals (a form of vitamin C) for years and my skin is in great condition. It's tasteless and dissolves quickly in water.

Re: Looking for advice and recommendations

In the past several months I have seen several children with birthmarks.
Some call them "strawberries."
What is the technicial term, and do they know what is causing so many children to have this?
When I question the Mother's, I have to wonder if it is linked to medications that the parents take before they get pregnant.

Example, Acutane, Husbands that are in the service and need shots before going over seas.

Does anyone know what is the cause?

Susan

Hi,

I understand your concerns and although you are quite young the use of anti-aging products at your age is a good preventative measure and a very good investment. 90% of the visible signs of aging are avoidable. The number one best anti-age cream you could invest in bar none, is sunscreen. Sunscreen should be used everyday rain or shine. Make this part of your morning routine.

You should try some dead sea mineral care...i reccommend it to everyone on here..and my friends and family..
its natural and they have a wide range of products.. the ones i use are Sahara's Secrets just do a search on them....I tried another brand but they all seem to be a bit pricey. So i stuck with the best deal and i am satisfied..
they anti-wrinkle cream works well i have heard-- and the facial cleanser...my personal faves are the oil salt treatment and the exfoliants though!

If you take tablets for beautiful skin does it give the effect of the most expensive creams? or better?

Here is my recommended acne care regime:

There are a few very important and basic tasks that we should see to in acne care. These tasks will ensure a minimal amount of time spent dealing with acne and the unfortunate side effects that acne can cause.

Washing the Skin
Basic acne care requires that you wash your skin on a regular basis, preferably twice a day and following any heavy exercises. Using a mild cleanser, you should wash from below your jaw directly to your hairline, not leaving any patches untouched. Acne care requires a gentle touch despite the common misconception that only heavy duty soaps and rough scrubbing pads will be effective. These can serve to make acne worse.
For proper acne care, you should speak to a health care professional and try to match something with your specific skin type, whether it is particularly oily or naturally dry. Following the use of any cleanser, rinse your face thoroughly to remove all residues. Acne care does not rely solely on astringents as they are only effective for especially oily skin. Even then, astringents should only be used on the oily patches directly.
Oily hair can also be a common problem in making acne worse. Shampooing on a regular basis, as often as every day can help to reduce the oil that deposits in your pores.

Handling of Your Skin
As tempting as it may be to touch a blemish or to pop a pimple, you should avoid contact as much as possible. The purpose of acne care is to clear your skin and keep it smooth. In the event of a popped blemish, scars and blotches will form permanent reminders of the acne. Avoid rubbing or touching blemishes as much as possible.

The Right Makeup
Cosmetics can have a direct effect on the oil production and status of the pores on your skin. For optimum acne care, seek out oil-free cosmetics. The labels should describe the ingredients for you. If they do not, ask the retailer for more details. For those using acne care medication, foundation may be hard to apply for a few days. The skin will dry out and become scaly with the use of benzoyl peroxide or other acne care medication.
Additionally, certain products such as oil based hair products can spread down from the scalp to the forehead and close off pores. Look for products with a label “noncomodogenic”. This means they do not block pores and thus will not inhibit your acne care.

Be Wary of Excess Sun
You should always beware of spending too much time in the sun – it provides a long term risk to your skin and overall health. However, many acne care medications will enhance the effects of the sun, heightening your chances of getting a burn. Regardless of the acne hiding effects of a sunburn or tan, the excess UVB rays are dangerous. Talk with a health care professional about the acne care products you are using before spending excess amounts of time in the sun.

As your quite young, y dont you try a young skin care range, maybe with witch hazel in to make pores a little smaller, the best thing thou is to find a combination mosturiser that will help. With SPF to look after ur skin.
Good luck. Try looking at the nivea range FYI Magazine.
