Hello everybody! I'm new to the forum. I was looking around and I found some interesting topics. Thanks for all the tips! I also have a tip to share. Maybe it's been posted already. For a few months now I've been using natural soap. I highly recommend it. It doesn't dry the skin and the quality is just so superior. I suffer from skin allergies and it's helped me a lot. I'm sure you can find someone close to you who makes natural soap. Good luck to everybody! |

I started using natural soap last winter because I was sick of itching like crazy after taking a shower. As soon as I changed to the natural soap the itching stopped and then I noticed that the water was beading on my skin as though I had put oil on and I realised that the soap I had been using had stripped away the natural oils. I've had fun trying different soaps and have found some great deals on the internet.

Old Mill Soap is one I've used but I'm not sure it is organic. I'm using some soap at the moment that I bought at a street fair and liked it so much I ordered more. It's SouthAustinPeople.com and right now their soap is on sale for $2.50 per bar their shipping is also reasonable. My favorite is the Sandalwood Vanilla which is a unisex scent but I really like all the different ones I bought from them. You could Google organic soap and just see what looks good. I did find one soap maker who charged shipping and a handling charge on top and I cancelled my order because I'm not paying somebody to shove a bar of soap into an envelope.

For the past year I have been using soap from Siena Soap Company (sienasoap.com) and I have noticed a remarkable difference in my skin. I high recommend this company...evey product is 100% natural and organic. They only use essential oils vs. synthetic fragrances which can irritate the skin. Natural or pure soap means that you receive all the soap’s wonderfully moisturizing and rich naturally occurring glycerin. Commercial soap companies take out the glycerin from their soap products and resell it. Glycerin’s high value is sought after for the manufacturing of lotions and creams. Additionally, many brand name soaps are full of synthetic additives, petroleum products, or toxic chemicals that are simply unhealthy! After the use of such brand name products, your skin, the largest organ of your body, is left feeling dry, flaky, and itchy, while it is stripped of its natural oils. Its no wonder, for our skin absorbs between 60 to 70% of all products that it comes in contact with. |

Only bath and shampoo bars that is AWESOME to me is "CHAGRIN VALLEY shampoo and bath bars, Her size bars are a whopping 6.5 oz TOP that to others who sell theres sooooo small,(3.5-4.0) Im sticking with Ida's bath and hair bars UNTIL Someone here can beat Ida's bath bar size's !!!! I have checked many soaps and shampoo bar companies on the web and so far, there sizes are RIDICULOUSLY SMALL!!! Ida of chagrin valley is my WINNER !!!!!! Anyone knows any hair and body soap company that sells there bars LARGER than Ida's? I doubt it!!!! Not african black soaps please, They are TOOOO HARSH for my skin!!!

6.5 oz is a very large bar!! Siena Soap companies bars are 4.0-4.2 oz and I think that is big enough...I would have a hard time washing and holding on to a bigger bar in the shower! Chagrin Valley looks like they have nice soaps but they are almost $2.00 more a bar than the ones I have fallen in love with from Siena Soap company. |
