Re: DIY Base Cream 3 simple ingredients

silly question but is rosewater the same stuff you find in a middle eastern grocery store - i.e. the stuff that's used as a food ingredient in middle eastern desserts?

Yes, it should be, ocres. Check the ingredient list to be sure.

Re: DIY Base Cream 3 simple ingredients

Hi there, i think i have caught the DIY bug and have ordered the items for the base cream. I decided to mix mine with rosehip oil. I received the rosehip oil today and was wondering if anyone (probably Eden) can tell me how it should smell?? I have opened it and rubbed some into my hand and the only way i can describe the smell is like that of a very mild cooking oil type of smell? Should it have a nice smell or is it pretty odourless? I was imagining it to smell like roses?

thanks guys

I find rosehip oil to smell a bit on the fishy side and not at all glamorous... I assume it's from the large vitamin E content. A few drops of this in a 1oz whatever is as much as I can stand.

I ordered everything I need to finally make my potion(S) today. It cost $200 but there will be enough to experiment for a long time!

What oils did you use, jojo? Did you follow the recipe in the OP?

Re: DIY Base Cream 3 simple ingredients

jojo, you can make another batch and mix the 2 together. In the 2nd batch use an astringent oil, like grapeseed or hazelnut. Olive, except olive squalane, can be a bit heavy.

You're welcome, jojo!

Also, consider applying less than you would with normal cream. That might help.

Re: DIY Base Cream 3 simple ingredients

Hi all,

This has made fo such interesting reading. Goatlady and Eden, thanks for all your advice. Just need help with one thing as I'd love to make a DIY cream. I live in the UK and haven't been able to find a UK retailer for all these ingredients as well as Kassy's vit c serum. Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance!

Re: DIY Base Cream 3 simple ingredients

There are quite a few folks here that I believe have found the ingredients. Most of us get our LAA from Lotion Crafters. It's ultra fine and dissolves quickly. Ascorbic Acid, Ultrafine - Lotioncrafter LLC
