What's so great about MAC?

I've seen their counter at the local mall but never purchased anything. ususally, they have sales rep. that have on what I would consider as "clown makeup" and they all have very overly doned hair. I suppose I've always associated this with the quality of MAC cosmetics. However, i've recently learned that this is not the case as many of you swear by the name brand.

so tell me, what's so great about MAC?

It's all marketing. they are not the most expensive, nor the best. And most ordinary women, such as myself, can not pull off 99% of their color palettes. Simple colors and good make up techniques is much more important than the products. spend 200 dollars on some professional makeup classes is so much more useful

Re: What's so great about MAC?

I like MAC, because their stuff lasts a long time. They have something for everyone. You don't have to put on as much makeup as the people who are selling the makeup. Their products are easily applied meaning you don't have to work to get a good color. They have many colors.

I don't like to wear alot of makeup and MAC is great for me. Because too much face makeup makes me break out, but I've always wanted something to even out my skin tone. They have a nice lightweight makeup powder that is easy to put and easy to take off. It doesn't even feel like I have anything on my face.

I love MAC. And, no I don't work for MAC or anything this is my personal opinion.

I have to agree, though, the people who work at MAC do have outrageous hair-dos and makeup, but I think it comes with the job. Their are even some interesting people working their. One time I was talking to my mom after we both got our makeup done and I was talking about the person who did my makeup saying they were weird when the person who did her makeup came up. She asked, "Oh do you not like your makeup, sweetie?" and I said no. I was kind of embarrassed about what I was saying so my mom explained what we were talking about and she said "We weren't really sure if he was a boy or a girl." and the makeup artist said "Yeah, we aren't either. He doesn't care if you call him a girl or a boy, though." HAHAHAHA

i think the stores are moving towards an urban edgey marketing strategy- thats why the clown make up and then amy winehouse hair- but its actually relaly good- so good infact that my imom insists on it every year for her b-day.
