Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hi, things are going pretty well. Now getting lots of comments about my skin. Applying the cream twice daily however on sensitive areas like the upper lip i'm applying it every now and then. Pigmentation hasn't gone completely but looks so much better. Will keep going with it in hope it does. Would really like to know, if it does go what the chances are of it coming back in the future. Forgot to ask the Dermatologist that important question!
Anyway so nice to hear all your experiences with pigmanormt. Will keep you updated. Catherine.

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hello all,

I started the treatment with Pigmanorm two days ago. I am on the Pill and I tend to travel to warm climates due to my work and my nationality, so I ended up with melasma right above my lips, on my nose and on my cheekbones.
I have noticed a slight irritation/ redness (I only use it at night as per my dermatologist's instructions) and I am looking forward to see what is going to happen in the future.
I don't want to stop the pill since I use to suffer during my periods so I am sticking with the cream. I wear sunblock every day, winter or summer, and I try to cover it with make up.
I will keep you posted on the results.

Oh... by the way the dermatologist told me that after the end of the treatment there is too little chance my melasma will return. She did tell me though that I should be aware of my condition while I am pregnant, because it might re-appear due to hormonal imbalances; but it usually disappears after the birth. I also asked if I had to stop the pill, but she explained that even if I stop it it might take many months/ years to just fade. With all honesty, I am not ready to stop it but if the treatment doesn't work then I will have to.
Moreover, I read that during/after the treatment your sunscreen should become your best friend!

Hi Betty. Has your doctor prescribed this for you? I don't think that you should be applying this on large areas of your skin. Hydroquinone is very hard stuff to apply to large areas of your skin. It looks like you have a different kind of hyperpigmentation and you might want to explore other treatments. However, you dermatologist knows best.

This whole experience what with the dermatologist fees and the cost of the cream has been over £200, so i don't really want to give up. Hello Catherine, my skin has become a little red and it is flaking a little. It looks like a sunburn but I think it is the light peeling the creme is doing. Mine seems like it's getting darker but I think it looks that way because it's gone a little red.

Keep in touch. xxx Where are everyone using this cream? It has gone quiet lately, let us know how you are getting on.

Question Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hello guys,

I have been using pigmanorm for almost 10 days now and I have some redness on my upper lip. The skin is a little sore where I apply the cream.
I have a concern though about being careful with the borders when applying the cream. On my upper lip I cannot distiguish the borders anymore since it is red and I am afraid this is going to cause white patches. I keep having nightmares this week about it. I can see 3 white spots ony my apper lip and I am getting paranoid.
Are you guys very strict with the application of the cream? Can you just keep it in the borders of the pigmentation?

Hi Karmitsa, I tried to be strict, when applying the cream, unfortunately the pigmanorm did spread to unaffected areas. For awhile these areas, became red and sore, so I stopped using it for 24 hours, applying E45 cream instead. It worked wonders. For the last few days, I have stopped using pigmanorm cream, purely to see how my skin is looking naturally and I am amazed at the difference! There are no white patches and my skin has dramatically improved. I sincerely hope this information helps you. I am very, very happy with the results. As always, If you are in doubt seek advice from your GP or consultant. Tomorrow,I will begin to use the cream again and I will let you know how Iam getting on. Good luck.xxx

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hi everyone, I have started to use the cream again. This time, I have applied it to my face, as well as my forehead. When my face is wiped clean with a damp flannel ( removing any cream residue), my skin feels exactly the same as the first time round, dry and very tight. Hopefully, It should start to peel soon. Keep in touch. xxx

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hiya, so great to find this forum!! I have just started to use Pigmanorm on areas of melasma on my upper lip - finding it is drying out my skin so badly and yes its getting inflamed and to me making it look worse at the moment. I am so self concious about this, so it is great to hear about other people with this problem too and to stick with it!
Any more positive info and words of wisdom from anyone, especially if you have had it on your upper lip, would be very gratefully received!!

Hi, my skin has also become inflamed and it has started peeling, so yet again I will stop using the cream for a short time. This will enable it to recover a little, giving it the chance to get over the trauma. I can definately feel the difference, my skin feels much smoother. Before using this cream, my skin felt quite rough, although it didn't look it and trying to cover it with foundation was a disaster. It was similar to covering - say a scab, for instance. It obviously looked much worse, so I left it eau natural he ,he!Sorry that I can't help with the upper lip, I am sure someone else will be able to. Good luck.

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hello again, it's been a month and a half and I have to say I am pleased enough with the results. Of course I am paranoid about sunscreen now, but better safe than sorry. The dark patch on my nose has faded considerably and only my trained eye can see it. The patches on my eyesides have faded as well! Only my upper lip keeps being more brown that I hope for but it looks better than before. It is a little redish still but my derm prescribed me a cream, which I ordered at boots. I will keep you posted!

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hi everyone, just to keep you all updated. I used the cream for about 2 months then stopped. My pigmentation has almost gone and now doesn't bother me at all. My advice to anyone thinking of using this cream or who have just started with it... keep at it even if you experience red, peeling skin. When mine went like that i would stop using it until it cleared up then started again. Remember not to put too much on, even though it's tempting! Good luck to you all.I was so unhappy with the brown patches on my face and for years i tried everything to get rid of them. This cream worked for me. Catherine. ps I'll check every now and then just in case anyone wants to ask me a question. Know how important it is to try and get some answers.

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Just thought of a question i'd like answering if anyone can. Once the pigmentation has gone. How likely is it to come back? I wear factor 30 now even in the winter but if i go on holiday next year i'm worried even with all my efforts i might get a slight colour and the problem will return
. Would be grateful for any advice. Catherine.

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hi everyone,

I started using the cream on the 21st of September and I stopped on the 14th of December. I used to put it on my upper lip, my nose and my upper cheeks, right on the corner of my eyes. During that period I've experienced redness on those areas, especially my upper lip, flaking etc etc. However, my doctor was pleased with the result and she believes it's done a good job. She suggested I stop for a couple of months, to let my skin relax and the redness go and then we will be able to see the true colour of my skin. She also said that it will take some time for the colour to adjust, so I am not expecting my pretty white upper lip to be the same again. However, I had two small patches on my nose and they are gone baby, gone!
I live in London where the weather is pretty awful right now but I am still wearing my sunscreen every single day and reapply it on my upper lip and nose once during the day! I am a bit excessive I know, but I don't want to see those dark patches getting worse!
Will keep you all posted for my progress!
Catherine, I went to Antigua before I started the treatment and I wore my sunscreen and a hat and my melasma wasn't affected. Just remember to wear these and you will be fine!

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

hi all,
I'm new to this. I have had melasma on my face for about 10 years. Skin is very sensitive and not sure if I'll ever get rid of the discoloration by using topicals. I want something that's easy to use, but won't cause overdrying and acne because my skin is so sensitive. Is pigmanorm available in usa? Never heard of it.

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hi, I think you should try and give pigmanorm a go. Here you need to get prescription so maybe you could go and see a dermatologist. My problem stated about 4 years ago and was caused by too much sun in the past. Whilst on a trip to Thailand it suddenly appeared and there it stayed till i discovered Pigmanorm. I really did try everything cream, lotions, potions... even micro dermabrasions and peels! the discoloration really knocked my confidence and a whiff of sun made it 100x worse.
The cream did make my skin a little red and dry and times but i'd just stop using it for a bit then continue again when it was better.
I am now so happy with the results as the discoloration has almost gone. I'm not sure what will happen in the summer. I wear factor 30 even in the winter but not sure if this will stop it coming back. My laying around in the sun days are over but to stay out the sun completely will be impossible as i have a little girl who will still want to go on holiday and play on the beach.
I will keep you updated on what happens but my advice to you is to go for it. I really hope it works for you if you do.
Know the cream is made in Germany so not sure if it's available to you but i'd be surprised if it wasn't. Kindest regards... Catherine.
ps Thanks

Re: Hi is anyone using or used Pigmanorm?

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to see how everyone is going with their cream! I stopped the cream December the 21st and my skin still looks ok. My main problem was my upper lip, it still has some traces of "brown" but it has nothing to do with the way it was before. Of course now I am paranoid about the sun, even in the winter, but I keep my sun lotion with me all the time.
Thanks,
Karmitsa
