Best Treatment For Me

I need an experts advice on what is the best treatment for my melasma. I have had this for approx 3-4 years and think it was due to my being in a climate with lots of sun exposure and stress related as my previous doctor told me. Also, tried a few different creams with no avail. I am consider microdermabration or UPL treatment. Can anyone advise? I can't post links as I need 15 postings just joined sorry not sure if I can email the pictures.

Thanks.

Re: Best Treatment For Me

Melasma, chloasma (facial pigmentation). DermNet NZ

The article suggests that IPL and fractional laser may be worthwhile to treat, along with prevention.

Re: Best Treatment For Me

The dark spots usually go away by themselves - however, this process can take a very long time. It is not unusual to have the condition persist for months or years after giving birth or stopping taking birth control pill. Lotions with high SPF (sun protection factor) of 15 or greater should be worn if you have melasma, because sunlight and ultraviolet lights stimulate the production of melanin as a result of body's own protective response to such external stimuli.
Treatment for melasma:
  • Cosmetic cover-ups to hide and reduce the appearance of spots.
  • Non-prescription BIO SKIN REJUVENATION applied to clean skin twice a day. Ideal for use under makeup
  • Over-the-counter lightening cream with 2% hydroquinone
  • Prescription lightening cream with 4% hydroquinone
