Well what can I say. I'm absolutely delighted that that's it all complete and done with! A sense of relief! I don't think it helped that I worked myself up about it all. Super happy now! For me that's the hard bit over - fun bit is the peeling process.

Soo I used 15% MUAC TCA. This is my first ever TCA. I applied the first layer with a cotton pad and then I used a q-tip to target a couple of areas. The only bits that frosted were the q-tip areas, left it on for five minutes and at that point I thought stuff it! - I'm going to apply a second layer for maximum results. I left this on for just over four minutes.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! WOWEEEEE burney burney!! Oh my goodness IT BETTER BE WORTH IT!! hahaha. The first layer in my opinion wasn't all that bad - here's me thinking what all the fuss is about but different story for the second layer that I can't even explain!! So intense I had to walk about flapping my hands in my face. ( I had no fan oopsie )

Frosted much better with this second layer so fingers crossed il peel nicely. Will keep updating. Any questions fire away.

Awwhh you just made my Christmas much brighter :marchmellow:I told you.....or should I say, I warned you :p. @Neom, use a brush next time, you will save so much product this way, your cotton and q-tip soak up solution, using a brush nothing is wasted.

Cant wait to hear how things turn out for you

LOL

Yes will do. I was going to buy a new one but totally forgot. Still a bit pink so I'm lathered up on Neosporin. I've got a tightening effect which feels great - now I know what to expect after a facelift lol

I would say a combination type skin. You could maybe consider a lower % perhaps?

Nope, just a YPO. No skipping and jumping with that. Just itching lol.
But I am curious about trying the TCA.
Oooh what's a YPO?? Merry Christmas btw. Ireland right? Just after 1 in the morning. Time for bed. I've been good and not opened any pressies dying to open my Jo Molone haha

Well done @Neom ! Iv noticed, since I did my peel, time goes really, really slowly.have you noticed?lol.I'm calling it TCA time ,where one day feels like a week!hope you peel nicely and have lovely results for the start of the year :)
Thankyou! I've not noticed it yet but maybe when the peeling begins?! So what day are you on now?

Right?! :five: when the time comes we can go together :marchmellow:

I am usually pink the next day as well. That should go away by tomorrow. Keep neosporin on any areas that remain pink though. By day 3 you should see some peeling :icon_cheers:
Oh absolutely!! LOL there's a surgeon on Harley Street - his work looks AMAZING! Dr Dominic Bray.

Neom,I'm on day 6 but I've barely peeled. I have dry crinkled skin under my eyes(where I done two layers) and its driving me mad grrr!Iv had a few flakes, which is what I was expecting, but I thought the skin under my eyes would flake by now!its annoying because it looks horrible and crinkly.feels like its taking forever :(

@annaamia

Not too bad. So I'm just at the end of day 3 now. Face feels very tight - crinkled all over too which is making me go insane! :scream: I'm dying to put moisturiser on but I've been good and not applied a single thing - I want to get maximum results from this.

I read that it takes about 10 days for the end result? Hang in there! :) Treatments like this we just need to be patient with although easier said than done. I'm dying to itch too!

@Neom sounds good, neom!looks like you'll get a good peel,I bet you can't wait until the end result :) I've finally started peeling under my eyes yay!I was only using minimal moisture too but once I started applying lots of oils I started peeling.I don't know if it was coincidence or the good moisture loosening the dead skin off.its only fine skin peeling and not thick skin but thats because its only a 12% I did.I even stuck a small piece of cling film on top of my skin under my eyes to make the oil sink right in it lol!

PM on day 5: Coming along nicely and now peeling a lot around the mouth area, feels a lot better now! forehead, cheeks, neck still to peel- cracked in a few areas though.

Absolutely!! I'm going to schedule a dermaroller and then that will be me for a while. I'll still carry on with my weekly Mandelic acid peel.

So while we're on the subject, I did a three-layer 18% MUAC TCA a week ago today. I have barely peeled ... did not frost at all. I think it's flaked off some. I've moisturized consistently But wondering...should I have done a 4th layer until it frosted or should I move up the strength to 24%? And will I receive any benefit at all from this peel?

#22 ·
Thanks, Neom! I think I'd misunderstood ... I'd heard in the past that you should moisturize during the peel process. I guess I'll try it the other way next time ... and likely will use up my 18% with 4-5 layers, then move onto the 24%. Hope you're getting good results.

Happy New Year @hopeful

Is this peel from MUAC and one you recently purchased meaning it hasn't expired??

I am with Neom, ......I moisturize only enough to be comfortable after my peels. I moisturize around my mouth to be able to eat and smile semi normal, and that's about it. I apply neosporin right after the peel and keep it on until any pink or redness has subsided. Other than this I splash with water, and pat dry.

Be sure you are drinking lots of water this too will help keep your skin hydrated.

Thanks, Gymmie ... yes, it was from MUAC ... I just got it a few days before I used it (Dec. 27 was the date I did the peel). I moisturized heavily all week, thinking that was the best way to go. I'll likely try it again ASAP (which may mean a few months, as I work fulltime). Happy New Year!

For sure give it another try when time allows, and try to not moisturize as much. Also, use your RA every night leading up to the TCA and it will help prep your skin a bit. Be sure to degrease you face good prior to applying the peel as well, you can use witch hazel, or any toner you have.

Keep me posted on how things go with round 2!!

@hopeful : Thanks my dear ...:heart: LOVE is really the greatest thing ... And God is Love ... Btw, Aime means Love (in french) ...

Looks like Imma brace myself and do a TCA now ... The benefits are a great incentive... Thanks for sharing ... :thanx:

Yes, 15% is alright for a start ...

No do not apply TCA on your eyelids. Under your eyes is fine. Where are you purchasing your peel from??

You apply the peel, wait 5 mins, then neutralize. THEN, after neutralizing, immediately apply neosporin or any antibiotic ointment all over. Leave it on until the AM. Then cleanse with a mild soap/water. Don't use anything harsh until your skin is back to its natural state. If you need to moisturize, use lightly, don't over moisturize, you want your skin to peel, so don't feed it too much moisture.

You are so much better off ordering from a reputable peel company like MUAC. If you have complications, etc you have someone you can go too that will be willing to help you out. They offer 20% off, look at the box on the top right hand corner. You are fine to start out with 15%, I don't recommend "speeding" up the peeling process, let your skin decide when its ready to do what the peel is intended for. It will peel, so let it do its thing naturally. You don't want your skin peeling before its ready that leads to complications and or scarring.

Thank you for your recommendations. The peel that I'm purchasing on Amazon is from Dermalure which is also a reputable company, just not one as well known as MUAC. I've spoken with customer support on their website https://www.dermalure.com/product-category/tca-peel/ and they seem to be knowledgeable about their peels and very helpful. I just wanted to come here to ask because I'm extra paranoid and I trust this forum more lol I will report back after I do my peel and maybe after I do, more people will start to use them since they are a lot less pricey than MUAC.

Thanks again for taking the time out to reply. It's so many differing opinions on what and what not to do and I appreciate your insight :)

(P.S. What happened to the thanks button? Lol)

Your very welcome @lighterdaze

As for price, are you using this for your face only because if so, you can totally get several peels out of the sample bottles MUAC sells. Just apply your peel with a fan brush, not with cotton or q-tips as those soak up solution and is wasteful. Using a brush only takes a tiny amount of solution. To compare you can get 1 ounce from MUAC for $39 whereas the other is $50 for 2 ounces. Or, you can get the sample bottle from MUAC for $15, by using their 20% off coupon. But either way, do let me know how your peel goes I will be anxious to know!! Best of luck to you!!

Awwh as for the thank you button its supposed to be resurfacing sometime in the future.

I did 21%TCA on my forehead only. Use peel from MUAC. I did 1 layer Jessner's(5 min)+2 layers 21%(5+5 min). It was strong frost. Today is DAY 8. My forehead is very brown, skin very tighten on it l, can't move my eyebrows, like did Botox , but I have no peel off, no flaky. Only flaky between eyebrows on the bridge.I am so afraid why Ihave no peeling. I use NEOSORIN two days, then only Retin A.What I have to do?

Hello my lovilies. Been a while since I last posted on this forum. Super busy with running my business!

So I did the 15% all over my face and slightly past my jawline. Fab results. Like dermaroller treatments this is definitely something I will be doing on a yearly basis. I'm thinking of getting a higher strength to do a spot treatment - perhaps going straight to the 24%? only a couple of areas where I feel I could benefit more from a stronger strength.

#55 ·
So glad to hear you had great results, I was hoping you did! I think so many always think the worst when doing a TCA, but if they did their homework and learned a bit more about the process they would be thrilled with the results. So happy for you!!

Spot treating with 24% would be ok, I wouldn't do your entire face with 24%......I'd be more apt to layer 18% then take that leap of faith on 24%. That burn is on a level of its own........spot treating you should be able to handle. Just be sure to lather up with neosporin on those areas afterwards. You should frost quite easy with 24%, so be careful.

Congrats on great results and congrats on your business, don't be a stranger!!

How do you like the Mandalic??? If you want to change it up, try the fade peel. Does the Mandalic itch or burn at all for you?? It doesn't for me. I recently switched it up and tried the Fade Peel, omgoodness, that sucker itched so bad I could hardly handle leaving it on for 5 mins. The nice thing with the Mandelic is its so simple/easy/pain free to use. Plus no down time. Its a great peel for maintaining til you can do another TCA. But if you want to try something else, have a look at the Fade peel.
