Skin Repair -

Hi there

I have recently joined this site (so much information for my poor little brain...) and wondered what some of the skin pros thought of the Osmosis brand or the Environ Brand and the formulations?

Are there other products that do the same thing? suitable for Rosacea/sensitive skin.

I have very mild Rosacea and want to repair my undernourished skin. I'm not at the acne stage, just the red flush and broken capillaries and extremely dry.

I went to a cosmetic place and they recommended Osmosis to help repair the skin. Its quite expensive. They actually make some skin products for Rosacea skin. Below is one similar to the one I used. I used the first one (mildest) called Mend. They don't appear to have the ingrediant list on their website

Below is from their website-

Rosacea/Sensitive Skin Serum

The important distinction is that these skin types need non-irritating, active ingredients to remodel their damaged skin in a way that promotes healing. Both Rosacea and Sensitive skin are the result of inflammation and it is therefore critical to use ingredients that remodel, repair and calm so that skin health is restored.
(see Vitamin A info).
The capillaries (and redness) that are often seen reflect two coexisting conditions; the skin is attempting to repair itself by increasing blood supply to certain areas, and, over time, the skin thins from the excessive inflammation which results in more capillaries
being revealed. Calm is designed to increase the density of the skin (which covers capillaries) while calming the inflammation and encouraging repair in a non-irritating fashion. The liposomes vastly improve penetration while restoring the health of the barrier. An intact barrier
is a critical component of the restoration process of Rosacea. In addition, research shows that liposomes reduce excess oil production, improve the health of the skin barrier and assist in wound healing. Eleven active, liposome coated ingredients including Retinaldehyde (which has been proven in independent research to be highly effective for Rosacea), make this product superior to anything else on the market.
Another exciting component of Calm is its ability to help remove scar tissue. 1,3 Beta Glucan increases macrophage activity thereby assisting in scar removal. The late stages of Rosacea are associated with the addition of “phyma” or scar tissue. This serum is the only product that addresses every aspect of the condition effectively.

ONE SERUM
Calms redness, clears acne, thickens thinning dermis, removes scar tissue (phyma), minimizes
telangectasias, normalizes oil, restores epidermal barrier health...one serum.

Re: Skin Repair -

I had broken capillaries and redness all over my face for several years. I tried all types of creams, potions and lotions with no success and lots of lost cash. I finally decided to take the plunge and went to get IPL for my face. I found a very reputable technician at a very reputable plastic surgery clinic and after 6 sessions, my face is finally redness free and the broken capillaries have disappeared. I regret taking so long to finally decide to spend the money on IPL. It really worked and now I don't wear cover-up make-up anymore. I can actually go around in public after just cleansing my face. The only downturn to IPL is that it is practically impossible to tan after the treatments. When I am in the sun, I tan everywhere except my face, so I use sunless tanning products for my face.

Hi Ya,

Yeah I nearly got that done (they quoted me one price then doubled it on the day!) so didn't end up getting it done. I definitely will get it done when I have some cash and do my research and find a place that is recommended!.

Good to hear success stories with it as I have a feeling I will be one of the people that takes a long time to heal as I once got a very mild face peel and the technician said i'd get no peeling and my face was very red for a few days and peeling!

So depressing sometimes, not only am I aging but I've got a red face all the time.

Cheers
