I'd say that's probably the best approach.

Hi Jganer, what is "Micro-Needling"? I have never heard of it. Is this something that eliminates stretch marks? Thanks

No wonder the poor woman looked like that- she had six babies in there I'm suprised it wasn't worse! ---but yeah, I think the only thing that could help her was surgery.

Re: what to use for old stretch marks (10+ years)

Actually what I've been doing is different. I am getting very slow results but they are good resuts. Once a week I very lightly sand down the stretchmarks (yep you read it right!) I sand them down with a very fine finishing sandind paper- the finer the better- like for sanding a car just before you put on the clear coat, then I put on the stevia, which I mix a little thicker than for my face- then after that I saranwrap myself (put my back brace on- get dressed and proceed with my day. at night around 6 pm I wash the gunk off and rub some rosehip oil over the stretch marks... Just did it yesterday. Today my marks are red again but it wll get better and better as it has with the trratments I did before on a scale of 1-10 my stretchmarks were about a 9 for noticeability before I started this now I'd say they are about a 4 even my hystorectomy scar from last xmas is fading...actually better than the stretch marks - one end of the scar you can't even detect there was ever a scar or stitches.. So I am happy but still working on it!

How do you prevent stretch marks? I only have two on one side of my thigh, and they are barely visible, but I was a dancer for several years.

Re: what to use for old stretch marks (10+ years)

I have heard that TriChloroacetic Acid (TCA) TCA Peel can eliminate stretch marks.

I think you have to use a higher concentration (i.e. 20%). I don't know if you can do it at home. I guess if you use a higher concentration (higher than 20%), you must dilute. I think a friend used 50% and she diluted it with water. So if you use a 50 or 100% TCA, add water. It can burn your skin. I would advise you to get a professional to do it for you. Don't want to burn your skin.

Also, lasers like Fraxel. But the TCA is cheaper and from what I've heard, it works just as well.

Re: what to use for old stretch marks (10+ years)

if the stretchmarks are lighter than your skin color, you're only choice is tanning and that's what a lot of models/actress do. just a thought!!! doctors are supposedly working on some laser treatment 4 it.......let's just crossed our fingers and wait or in the meantime use some makeup or bronzers to blend it in

Re: what to use for old stretch marks (10+ years)

About 10 years ago there was a aromatherapist who got very good results with sagged tummies and stretchmarks. She gave regular massages and was into acupuncture and herbs. I remember she used rosehip seed oil among other oils for stretchmarks and sagging tummies. Rosehip seed oil seem to have a very good reputation as a scar healer, even on old scars. In the 15 years since I first got hold of this oil I have repeatedly heard success stories on anything from wrinkles, to stretchmarks.

The aromatherapist got lots of customers and within 3 months she had saggy tummies looking fine again. Some took a bit longer time. I especially remember a mother in her late 30's, who had a saggy tummy with lots of loose that never stretched back again. The impressive thing was that it was several years since her last pregnancy. After a time of massages and special oil blend she looked like new again, not a trace of sagging or excess skin. After a series of The therapist even treated stretchmarks and took on all kinds of skin trouble. Strechmarks could not go away completely but could be improved a lot.

From what I know of oils and essential oils I would recommend rosehip seed oil alone, or in a blend with oils suggested by other posters in this thread. Essential oil from helichrysum italicum is known to help with scars and healing. These are some of my favourite skin care oils for face too. Perhaps Eden and others who are into natural oils can recommend other oils that would work well for stretchmarks together with rosehip oil and helichrysum.

A series of dermarolling might be followed by daily applications of massage with oils. My main point is; Don't listen too much to the experts who says other treatments don't work. A plastic surgeon is really good at what he does, but don't necessarily know much about other approaches. I'm not suggesting tummy tucks are not a good solution, but in some cases other things can work really well.

Re STRETCH MARKS/ANTI AGING

Hi, I am using STRIVECTIN. It apparantly was made to help with stretch marks but a lot of people are now using it for anti aging. I have now been using it for a week and I am very plesaed with results. I would definitely reccomend for face and neck. So you could give that I try.

Google (Stretch Marks, Essential Oils) Organic Oils will remove old stretch marks. You need to buy cold pressed organic oil. Best to buy from the internet instead of a local big name whole foods store. You have to use it every day and it will take 3, 4 or more months for it to work but it will.
