from what I understand, you first have to clean out the pores, THEN try to make them smaller.

To clean them you can try Biore strips (work amazing for me) or many peolpe are using the "OCM" method which involved using castor oil and olive oil (50/50) and after you scrub that on your face, take a towel and drench it in HOT water a few times and put it on your face.

Then you should start some sort of retinoid. Not only will it make your skin look better, it actually somewhat closes pores over time.

Consider treating from the inside as well as with topical creams. An oily & clogged T-zone is often a sign of an inability to breakdown fats in the diet. B-vitamins may be of assistance as they will help reduce the excess sebum. A mild lactic acid wipe may also help as this will break down the dead skin cells that are part of the problem.

Also read the ingredients on your moisturiser if there are waxes or butters in your cream, it is too rich and will contribute to pore congestion. Go for products that have a lotion consistency instead.
