Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

arbutrin--that's the stuff in mediderm. It doesn't seem too dangerous. In fact, it's from a bearberry extract. I'm gonna email the company and ask them whether the product delivers lasting results.

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

If you are talking to me, then yes. I am googling it but not finding much. The only article I found that is actually talking about methyl and not using it as just a feature is very, like I'm not sure which one they are talking about.

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

methyl arbutin or just arbutin? Because arbutin isn't permanent.

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

I'm actually not very sure. Just know that Beta-Arbutin (Arbutin) is the less expensive version. I'm still very confused about everything so I'm trying to figure this all out [if possible]. I'll check the yahoo search engine and see if they have anything.

It turns out that methyl arbutin is also used in animal diet food.

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

Yeah. I haven't come across many products containing methyl and the ones that do are like steroids or something.

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

I think that alpha arbutin may be what you are looking for. According to my research, alpha arbutin is more effective and safer than most lightening products, and it helps reduce future melanin production. But, I'll have to look into more.

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

A lot of this stuff is contradictory. I've seen Alpha too. I'm wondering if it's as permanent.

I think that this alpha arbutin stuff may be what we are looking for--a godsend. Of course, I have to do more research before making a definite conclusion.

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

I also hear Retin-A makes lightening easier. Like it helps lightening products absorb into your skin better so results are a tad quicker. With stuff like Makari, people were saying that after they stopped using it for a wekk their skin color went back to the original color but with Alpha, the results are more permanent. I'm still not 100% sold but I think I'm getting there.

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

I don't know about Retin-A, but I do know that using a scrub while lightening makes the results more effective because it allows the medicine to penetrate better.

What kind of scrub? Just like those regulart ones you buy from Meijers or are you talking about, like the cream type stuff people use to wash the face?

Hi. ALpha Arbutin is not permanent. I bought it as a serum and saw no lightening effects. Maybe it's effective in conjuction with other lightening ingredients like with Herbal Inn, but alone it had no effect on me. Nevertheless, whatever form of aburtin it may be, it wont be permanent. Only permanent thing is monobenzone!

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

some people say that hydroquinone can be permanent if used in high doses. But high doses are only for people with light skin in the first place. If you use too much on dark skin, it can just make you darker.

Re: is any skin lightener permanent?

Thats very risky. Hydroquinone in high doses could seriously damage your skin. I used 2% hydroquinone when I first started lightening... it only evened me out. Didnt really lighten me. But I stopped because I heard it wasnt so good for your skin.
