Thanks for all the comments guys, im glad u like it. Just have the other odd parts of my body that need to catch up! I dont really need to use that much make up now as well and yes my skin has the soft glow.

For those who wanted to know when I started, it was back in June. Thats when the pic was taken.

Here are the details of what i use for those of you who wanna know:

HQ Compound 10%
Arbutin Compound 10%
Glycolic Acid Lotion 10% (for face) and 20% (for body)
Differin (just got it)
Retina (hardly use it now, cos I have Differin and Glycolic)
AHA Cleanser (+ Salicylic/Lactic acid)
AHA Toner
SPF50 Sun lotion (Nivea)
SPF15 Lipbalm
Liquorice Soap (just got it)

I cleanse with the AHA cleanser and toner every day as I have oily yet sensitive skin. This helps refine pores and stop acne, because I apply the oily like HQ compound every day.

@#*!£&% hard work, i tell you!
Wow that is amazing progress for three months!

Nina did you compound all of your products? If not, would you mind sharing a source

Re: my before and after pics

Nina, your results are amazing!

Can you please me the mixture of HQ% & Arbutin Compound 10%.
Table spoon of this teaspoon of that...?

I am a newbie...pretty much.
A lot of researching, a few purchases, & no results due to skin issues (breakouts, etc.)
Your guidance will be much appreciated!

Re: my before and after pics

I thank you Nina, you're a very wonderful lady. It was you who peaked my interest once again in compounding chemicals, and because of your kind words I did. I can only hope for such great results, I am very glad you decided to post your pictures. Although, there is a lot of negative stipulation around HQ which is why I feared it in the first place, you helped me realize with proper precautions its an invalid statement.

How light are you trying to go? I have been using my HQ (20%) mix for almost 2weeks now, I dont use it on my face because i'm still kind of paranoid to apply it there. My tan has faded and i'm thinking of adding Arbutin to the mixture (not sure if i will though). I might upload some pictures of my face and the difference I am seeing there, with use of retin-a/differin. I have been using those two compounds for quite some times now.

I did order DPG, but I for now prefer dissolving it in HQ. I think I will play around with active ingredients. I have found out about some new items that are being questioned as lighteners. I think my obsession with skin lightening is unhealthy, the amount of time i spend researching ingredients is crazy >.<... I also found several doctors that perform skin lightening cosmetic surgery in the US, I might visit them in the fall to speed up the process.

@Goddess: lol your post made me chuckle, you're too cute.

Re: my before and after pics

hey guys

@goatlady - a few months ago i didnt even know what an aha was lol x but now ill rave all day about them! They are fab, i definitely recommend them to anyone using the board.

The arbutin and hq i have compounded myself. Working out concentrations is just a matter of simple math; if you want a 10% concentration, then it would 10g to every 100g total solution.

There should already be posts on mixing the arbutin and hq, please take a quick browse as im sure i posted it recently. I will pm sources.

@faceofvanity, glad your tan is fading! i recommend using 10% on the face only not 20%. And to be patient as the skin takes time to renew. One piece of advice (among others) i took from ondine, was that skin takes 28 ( i believe) days to renew itself. I only used 10% and it has worked pretty well for me. Are you experiencing any irritation/skin problems with the high concentration?

If hq is working will for you, try it out for abit longer, no need to get arbutin just yet.

Also I have been testing and trying various methods since June, but the HQ/Arbutin with ahas and sun protection has always been consistent.

I was always aiming for meagan good lightness, like in my avatar, or even eva pigford (antm).

There is no way id wanna be lighter than that. Id like to retain some colour lol ....mmm but once you get the bug....who knows....

Re: my before and after pics

Oh I am sorry for my post confusion, I have not used HQ on my face. The 20% is for body only, I use retin-a and differin for my face. My body is more stubborn to lighten but my knees and elbows are coming along.

Re: my before and after pics

the lemon juice is a total joke with a ph of 2 which is pretty close to ph of 1 which is battery acid, so basically it burns ur skin, it did burn mine, and made it red. pink moscato, start using hte HQ 4 and retin-A if u alreayd go tit from ADC or superskinstore, i assure u u will see results and u dont have bad luck u just bought some poor products that arent as effective, thats all

Re: my before and after pics

FaceOfVanity,

Did I hear you say Dr's in the USA performing skin lightening surgery I wonder how they do that Would you be willing to dig up a link I know that in the Philippines at 'Philosophy' they have a treatment involving a series of peels that they claim can lighten even the darkest skin; permanently! The depth, amt & duration of the treatments is determined on a case by case basis & it costs an arm & a leg. Between sessions, you must follow, to the letter, a strict regimen using their products as instructed. They are vague abouy exactly what it is that they do. I'd never go overseas for such a treatment.

Re: my before and after pics

Don't mean to butt in, but are you talking about CO2 laser surgery?
I had the areas around my eyes CO2 lasered about 5 years ago and the pigment is GONE. It is quite noticeable, and since I can't help getting a little bit of color on my face, the difference between my undereye area and the rest of my face is pretty dramatic- it NEVER TANS. I have to use a concealer to even it out.

Don't know if this would be relevant to AA women wanting to lighten in the most extreme way - as in, NO pigment whatsoever - not especially a good look really. For reference, I am light/medium golden color normally, and the undereye area is palest white.
