Re: my before and after pics

Yep, her results are AMAZING! I could hardly believe that it's the same person. There are so many fake 'results' pictures that are taken in different lighting etc so I looked at the pic several times and I can still hardly believe it.Because I have been told over and over that you cannot change your skin this drastically if you do not want to look like MJ.I'm so glad that I found this site because it shows me that you CAN change your skin.

Really? No cases of HQ causing cancer in living history? Then why does everybody claim that HQ will cause skin cancer and lesion? I'm new to this and you hear something else everywhere so I'm obviously confused and afraid to ruin my skin. I am still young and apart from the fact that it is dark and hyper pigmented my skin is very healthy and clear.

I do know that I'd go back to my old colour if I stopped using. If I would let's say stop colouring my hair, the old colour would come back. I'd be okay with maintenance as long as I do not have to use a very expensive product. I just wouldn't want to be darker than I ever was if I stopped using for reasons unknown.

Btw, Katherine Heigl has very light skin with blonde hair but naturally brown eyes and it looks fine on her. And Dita van Teese looks sickly despite her blue eyes. It always depends on the person, I guess.

Re: my before and after pics

Devany, the reason why HQ is viewed in a negative light with cancer, darkening, and skin damage is because of misunderstood cases in parts of Africa where they used adulterated HQ in high concentrations with mercury steroids and to top it all off these women went out in the strong African Sun with these products on their skin. The HQ that we on this forum and doctors prescribe is USP grade meaning they are pure in the 4% they prescribe without any carninogens, heavy metals, and steroids. SO in short: its the bad apples that tarnished the reputation of the gold standard in lightening: HQ. If you use genuine HQ product with a high spf sunblock and Retin-A you will not experience any negative side effects and when you stop you skin will not darken but go back to your original color minus the discolorations/dark marks u acquires - those on the otherhand are erased forever so you'll have very clear skin.

Re: my before and after pics

I have seen pictures of disfigured African women, and they obviously do scare you off, because I would rather keep my dark skin than looking like that. I did buy a HQ cream online not knowing that it was HQ and the stuff was darkish brown and smelled a lot like make-up. I did apply it just once and my skin started itching like crazy..and then I found out that HQ wasn't even supposed to be dark brown. So yeah, I'm obviously a newbie who has no idea about anything..yet.

Nice advice Karenannev! Good to see you confident enough to advise someone else & what you said is 100% accurate. When new people join, it usually takes a while B4 they feel knowledgable enough to begin giving advice. Some arrive with a wealth of knowledge like Ninasky did but most don't. It shows you've been reading all the links & really invested in learning & contributing. This forum could use more KarenanneV's!

Oh thanks Ondine! I am trying. Now that I'm a 'SCT Senior', I'd better start earning my promotion . I still feel like a bit of a novice, though, really. I've had so much help on here from you and everyone else, I really feel like I have to give something back. I'll will keep trying .

When it comes to compounding I am a total novice! I always fear I'm going to blow up the house or liquify myself I approach it cautiously but I am really having fun.
