Re: Chemical Peeling: What to Expect Before, During, and After

i m wondering if anyone had experience with cristal peel..i did it twice already and i have other 4 procedures to go,but my skin just refuses to peel.,maybe because i do as well no needle mesotherapy every other day and it keeps my face moist,or probably it is just not a very strong kind of peel,i guess i have to wait and see..

You do mesotherapy on your face? How does that work? I noticed you said no needle, so how does it penetrate. I had mesotherapy done on my legs a few times-Hurt like hell so had to give up.

It is performed on the machine called BTL, it offers fat-dissolve care,anti-cellulite care on the body, and anti-wrinkle care and whitening care on the face..for each purpose the physician opens sealed solution which destined to be used only once and at that very moment,i did it on my face ,so anti-wrinkle care solution was used,it involves a metalic roller and electro-stimulation,it is not painful but rather discomfortable especially when they increase frequency in latest treatments (i took 10)..does it work?i cant really tell, because i was doing other things at the same time, but i noticed some positive changes in skin elasticity..if u have a needle fobia i guess this is an alternative..hope this information is helpful

Re: Chemical Peeling: What to Expect Before, During, and After

Thanks for that info.. I understand that mesotherapy is very effective. Maybe it was less painful for you because it was on a roller. What I had, was injections repeated all over my legs which was incredibly painful. I wish I could have kept up with it because I think I was just beginning to see some results. Maybe I should go with a couple of painkillers and something to bite down on next time !!!

I tried the Obagi blue peel, it stings big time but the result is well worth it. You can use a maintenance regimen after. I didn't continue with the Obagi product because its a bit too pricey (it should be good if you can afford it).

I opted for a more practical maintenance regimen, from SouthGain/Diana Stalder-- I'm currently using their glutathione soap and their surely white lightening cream for maintenance. So far I'm happy with it.

Re: Chemical Peeling: What to Expect Before, During, and After

LACTIC ACID (Concise Information)

Is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid naturally derived from milk sugars, which is then modified in a laboratory. It has been shown in clinical studies to improve acne and the hyper-pigmentation that is present due acne and sun exposure. Alpha hydroxy acids rejuvenate the skin by encouraging the shedding of old, sun-damaged surface skin cells. Lactic acid is one of the alpha hydroxy acid most frequently used for facial treatments because of its special ability to penetrate the skin.

"With increasing research into what causes wrinkles and the effect of photo-aging, alpha hydroxy acids have increased greatly in popularity. Alpha hydroxy acids have been used for thousands of years as a skin rejuvenating product. Cleopatra is reported to have bathed in sour milk (lactic acid) to improve her complexion. Now hydroxy acids are a common additive to numerous skin care products including moisturizers, cleanser, toners, and masks."

What Lactic Acid Does:

* Helps to unclog pores and control acne and blackheads. * Deep cleans pores. * Provides a smoother skin surface, assisting to diminish scarring making imperfections less noticeable. * Reduces fine lines and wrinkles, stimulates natural collagen production and reverses the signs of aging. * Evens out skin tone by assisting to eradicate Age spots and Hyper-pigmentation. * Helps reverse the effects of sun-damaged skin.

Lactic Acid is a non-irritating rapid exfoliator. If you are new to chemical peeling, this is the peel to try. If you have sensitive skin, lactic acid should work well for you. If you've hit a plateau with other acid treatments, this is a great alternative.

A fan brush is great to apply LA...You can use a cotton pad but I find it absorbs too much of the acid...

Re: Chemical Peeling: What to Expect Before, During, and After

^^^makeupartistchoice. com has different type of peels including TCA to purchase.

Anyway, I tried Lactic Peel the other day, it was itchy/stinged a little when I applied it but after it subsided. I didn't notice any glow though afterward. I use the 40% one. LNL, does this work on melasma?

yes it does, it helps lighten it up but wont completely get rid of melasma since its an active condition, you have to also take pycnogenol, MSM, and Vitamin C pills internall to see a difference. Start off with 40% Lactic Aicd then gradually go as high as 65%

Re: Chemical Peeling: What to Expect Before, During, and After

IDK if it's melasma but I think it is, I am self-diagnosing myself. I have hyperpigmentation on my lower half of my face and neck. It has improved some...IDK how this happened. I thought maybe I had a underlying illness but I got checked out by the doctor, no cholesterol, diabetes,or hormonal imbalances, etc. I know it's not the sun as I live in the NE and besides, I wear SPF and I usually go out in the afternoon/evening. I have a derm and I told her about it but she didn't really say anything about it. All she said is the Retina A should help.

Actually it's not melasma since it's not in patches.

Re: Chemical Peeling: What to Expect Before, During, and After

If Retin-A is not working for you I have two things for you to try, which are VERY effective and AFFORDABLE.

The Skin Nouveau Carotein Cream (EXCELLENT RATING from me, I have been using it every other night and it does exactly what it says which is to make hte skin bright, blemishfree, and get rid of acne scars and marks)

and the Skin Actives Brightening Cream (this should work on slight hyperpigmentation), however, if you want something strong then you could go for the Fair and White Whitenizer Gel from amazon.com (the legitimate one) which has many reviews on how the women's melasma that most treatments couldnt get rid of was totally eliminated with the F&W Whitenizer.

Where can you purchase the Skin Noveau? How much is it? Your experience? Yeah, my only problem is really the hyperpigmentation. Once that is gone, my skin will be truly flawless.

What's special about the F&W?

Out of all of them, which gives the most superior results? My goal is to attain my former skin;even and ravishingly glowing, lol.

the Skin Nouveau Carotein sells for 8 to 12 bucks for an 8 ounce tub which lasts almost a year used everyday.
