LnL, how often can you do Lactic? I have the 55% and it doesnt sting much at all, in fact, I left it on some sun damaged areas on my legs for an hour...no response either.
I also have the tca 15%...i tried a few areas on my legs as well to compare..i left it on 5 mins first time as i was scared, then week later, left it on 15 mins, layered 3 times, slight sting but really not bad at all..no response yet with peeling or anything..that was two days ago...should I try again?
thanks

Not LnL Ashes, but I have done TCA in 12.5%, 18% and 30%. Different areas of the body react differently to the TCA. The hands, arms and legs are the hardest and need a stronger solution. I just did 30% on my hands. I have done it on my arms. I would NOT suggest anyone try this unless they are VERY experienced in peels, but you may need at least a 20% solution for sun damaged areas on arms, legs and hands. Spot treat first to see what your skin will do.
Remember it can take days for the peeling to start normally around day 4-5 sometimes longer depending on where you applied it.

Hey! Just had a VI Peel treatment on Thursday. Today is Sunday, and I'm looking reptilian by the second! Just in case no one has heard of a VI Peel; it's a peel that has a combination of a light, medium, and deep peel. I'm getting 3 of these treatments done..about 2 1/2 weeks apart. Have you or anyone else reading had a VI Peel done, and were you satisfied with the results? My esthetician said I would not not see a noticeable difference until the 2nd or 3rd peel because I was having microderms done about once a month. I would love to hear some input..or insight from anyone! Thanks

LnL, i have melasma and have been using azelaic acid 2x per day for the last 5 days, luckily i have not had any reaction to it as of yet. I am overwhelmed by all the informatin on this site and was wondering if you can give me your opinion on acid peels - can i use them while using azelaic acid and if so what do you recommend? I have used 50% glycolic before but that did not do anything? Many thanks

I'm a little worried about this peeling you ladies talk about. Can it be that bad? Will I want to leave the house. I'm in Dubai so can't cover my face as I could get in trouble for that over here.

tracy it all depends on the type of peel. ive done the tca peels and yes you peel quite a lot and it just mostly looks like white glue peling of in patches and hanging off. it stays like that for a bout 3 days solid and then gets less and less. i did find that my first pel was worse as far as peeling was concerned, than my second peel.
its not really that bad but people will look at you as though youve got a skin problem! if i caught anyone looking id just say what id had done!! but belive me the hassle is well worth the results! for me the worst part is the peel itself and the burn!!!

| You can do a Lactic Peel every week. The TCA takes longer to flake and peel; if you performed it on saturday, it wont peel till 4 or 5 days later.

| You can keep using the HQ till right before you do the peel, be sure to wash your face before the peel though.

| Before you venture into acid peels, use this product in combination with your azelaic acid twice a day. Amazon.com: Fair & White Exclusive Gel Creme Whitenizer #08003: Health & Personal Care This has worked for my deep dark marks, there are reviews on that link on amazon which says it cured melasma by 80% within a week of usage and its safe (be sure to buy from that link specifically).

This is what 2 layers of 20% TCA can look like, 3 layers where it is more white. Taken maybe 10 minutes after last application. The whiteness goes away in an hour or so. 90% peeled off on day 5 and 6 in this particular case.

| Oh, and it does burn while the acid is active, 5-10 minutes per application maybe, but I'm not that bothered by it. Probably is a lot more painful if you do the whole face at the same time, which I would never do personally. YMMV

I have done a Lactic Acid peel (25%) almost everyday for two weeks. I have very sensitive skin prone to rosacea so I wanted to start low, not like everyone else's 55%+!
I really like what lactic acid 25% has done for my skin texture. I was recovering from a horrible breakout due to Fair and Flawless and wanted to speed up the exfoliation process to rid those zits away. It has definitely helped speed up that process!
The first day that I tried the lactic acid, whoa, that stung. I quickly neutralized it with baking soda and it was a little red, but I was determined to see if this had merit. The next day was less stinging, the next day day was less until now when I apply it there is no stinging. And my skin is very smooth. I wake up with very glowly soft skin, I am suprised. Much better than an antioxidant serum. I will continue to purchase this, and may up the percentage slowly. It has also helped with the effectiveness of the HQ 4% I am applying on my age spots. I can see a marked difference than any other lightener I have tried (meladerm/lancome blanc expert/neostrata/paula choice/isa knox).

If this strength is working out great for you, stick to it instead of going higher.

Hello. I am pretty new to this. I have done light chemical peel 3 months ago but little effect noted. I just purchase microdermabration tool (diamond nib). Do I still need to do chemical peel ? Wouldn"t it be too strong or draconian on my skin later? I am very active in games and expose to a lot of sun 3-4 x weekly. Would appreciate your professional opinion. Thank you.

Many thanksk for your help, it is greatly appreciated! | Yes, wait until the melasma is gone by at least 90%, or if you are seeing definite improvement, just keep using the azelaic and F&W whitenizer till its completely gone, then you should start off with RA 0.025 and I think you should stick with that, forget the 0.05.

| Forgo the chemical peels, you dont need it if you are doing microdermabrasion; its either one of the other. Also, be sure to get a broad spectrum UVA/UVB Sunblock such as La Roche Posay, Neutrogena with Helioplex, Shiseido Extra Smooth, etc. They will keep your skin from darkening in the sun.
