| | Products that will lighten my skin 2 shades?
Hi everyone! I'm trying to lighten my skin tone about 2 shades. My natural born skin tone was like Beyonce's skin but over the years due to sun exposure I've darkened dramatically. I've tried natural methods such as Lemon and creams like Fair & Lovely but they haven't worked for me and now I'm just using Papaya soap. The soap seems to be making my skin brighter, not lighter.
I've suffered a tiny bit of acne on my face over the past couple of months so I'm left with a few scars. My face can be quite sensitive and I have yellow undertones. I'm looking for products that can even out my skin tone and get me a couple of shades lighter. In particular my hands and feet because they have dark patches and I tan really easily. I come from the UK btw |

Hi Kawaii,
Welcome to the forum. Many people here, myself included, have experienced the frustration of accumulated sun damage. Lightening your skin by 2 shades ought to be a snap! Get yourself a Lactic Acid 40% peel from the source below. 40% Lactic Acid Kits: Home Chemical Peels Skin Care Acne Anti Aging
There are cheaper sources BUT you don't get the neutralizing solution or the fool proof instructions. A few lactic acid peels might be all you need in your case. At this strength, there's no downtime and the peel doesn't dry you out like a prune. You'll need to invest in a good sunblock & use it on all sun exposed skin, rain or shine. Give this a go & let us know what happens. You might also be able to use:
- A vitamin C serum
- Some Tretinoin 0.025%
Good luck!

You can use it all over. Refer to cuteblackboy's thread. He;s geting great results fro the lactic peels. he uses a higher strength, but it's more prudent to begin modestly & work your way up in accordance with your skin's tolerance.

I have just started using a range of skin products called The Lighter and Brighter range for pigmentation, sun damage, and very uneven skin tone. I think it is a relatively new range and from my point of view what I like most is that the products are completely natural whilst still being able to give lighter and brighter skin. I know I cannot expect to see results immediately, but I would be very grateful to know if other members of the forum have used this - and with what results?

Hi everyone can someone explain skin tones to me like lightening 3 shades ?
My skin tone is uneven and I am trying out the superskinstores products, HQ and RA . I am lightening my darker areas first to the rest of me and then I will lighten all over.
Im just trying to understand the shades and what is moving two shades or more mean or look like?
Thanks, |

Nadinola would be effective for this, I think. I'm not sure how cost effective it would be if you wish to use it on your entire body, but it would be good for those tougher to lighten areas.

No, it only contains HQ 3%, but it is over the counter and possesses other helpful ingredients to make up for this. Ondine has a post about her experiences with Nadinola, you should check it out.

Mixedchica, what colour is your skin tone? Dark, medium-dark etc?
My skin right now is a bit darker than Tyra Banks.

ok kawaii I think we are in the same range, but i do have uneven skin tone like my stomach is darker and arms and neck I also have a yellowish undertone if that helps so, Im trying to lighten those first but my skin color goal is rosario dawson's and mariah carey's complexion.
So Iguess I want to lighten about 4 shades maybe depending on how you look at I suppose.
What are your goals and what are you using?

| My skin has some dark patches too. Mainly on my hands and feet which is due to excessive sun exposure over the years. I'm trying to get my skintone back to its original state which is similar to Beyonce's skintone but more tanned.
Right now I'm using Papaya soap. It kinda works but I need something stronger for stubborn areas so I'm trying a new regime. I'm going to get lactic acid peel, vitamin c serum, glycolic acid cream, microfibre cloth and garnier ambre solaire sunscreen SPF 50. Personally I don't want to go down the retin A and HQ route unless I really have to. I'll see how I get on with those first and report back |
