rash from retin-a .025

hi guys. i've been using retin-a .025% on my face and body for almost two weeks now (i apply it, wait an hour/30 mins, then apply hq 4%). i don't buffer it and i haven't had any peeling on my face or body, but i've had some skin tightness on my neck in the previous few days.

today, a few hours after applying retin-a, the skin on my neck has an itchy red rash. has anyone experinced this? what are your thoughts? should i put hydrocortisone on it to help with the itchiness?

also, is it normal to have no peeling after a few days short of two weeks? thanks!

Yes I had that itchiness at first too. The neck and chest are more sensitive than the face for some reason and it's not uncommon.

I had to resort to the HC cream too a little, but don't overdo it - it can cause problems of its own. I used emu oil to remoisturize and calm down the inflammation and this helped the best. Maybe some Benadryl if it's really red and itchy - but don't drive while taking this.

Just lay off the RA in that area for a long time.

At 0.025% I doubt you will peel but you don't NEED to peel to get the benefits!!
In fact, the less irritation you get the better in terms of anti-ageing benefits.
