Small, pimple-like blisters around my goatee area after shaving..

About a day or two after I shave, I get these small white blisters around my mouth. I've tried all kinds of products and nothing seems to work. It's not ingrown hairs.

Also, I have red irritation on my neck area. I use to have alot of ingrown hairs in that area but have recently used a razorbump remedy that worked very well. But now, I'm left with redness.

Please help.

try shaving right after taking a hot shower. This helps soo much. You will have a very smooth shave and also it helps prevent ingrown hairs, redness and razor bumps.

My husband gets redness too around his mouth and chin area when he shaves.

His skin seems to be so very sensitive in that area for some reason. He usually buzzes the hair to a shorter length w/one of those shaver machines (not sure of the proper name) then he shaves w/a kit from The Art of Shaving. It's a great shaving product that you can find at select Nordstroms or Nordstrom.com

They have a kit that is only $38 for your specific skin type too and here's what it comes with:
The 4 Elements of The Perfect Shave? Starter Kit offers two weeks' worth of our essentials for achieving a close and comfortable shave. Complete with Pre-Shave Oil, Shaving Cream, and After-shave Balm, this compact kit even includes a Genuine Badger Shaving Brush.

For my husband it's lasted way more than 2 weeks. He usually doesn't shave everyday though. Hope this helps

I agree that exfoliating and opening up the pores from warm water or from a shower helps a lot. Also wearing moisturizer keeps skin smooth. I have noticed a dramatic change in my boyfriends face now that he has followed those simple techniques, which I have picked up from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, but I let him think that I know all the answers ;-)
