Cetaphil works for me. It's gentle for skin which is good esp.that I have oily/acne-prone skin. It's also important to do some assessment with your diet. In my case, I found out that nuts, dairy, and processed food lead to breakouts.
i apply sudocrem everynight before sleep . i put in on everywhere quite thickly on face and neck and it has helped reduce my acne drastically. i very rarley get it and if i do its goes away much quicker with sudocrem. be warned it will end up all over your pillows and sheets if you sleep with it on!!

Hhmmm I wonder if I can do this with my back? My problem is that I'm a picker popper so the moment one rears its head I pop and pick so I end up with scar 1f622
i heard that diet does not actually effect acne. I've read that it's a myth on several websites but i still feel like i breakout immediately after i eat fried foods or pizza
Taking fish oil daily has really helped my face. It's also clearing the acne scars on my face. I've just started using retain-a...will see how that goes.
I came to share a really effective regimen I've been using that has totally cleared my (hormonal, I think?) adult acne. Unfortunately I tried a bunch of things at once so this is not a scientific experiment and I can't say which one made the biggest difference, but so far it's working. These are all supplements.
Murad Pure Skin Clarifying Dietary Supplement (4 pills a day)
Puritan's Pride Zinc for Acne (2 pills or 50 mg a day)
Estroblok Pro (2 pills a day)
I tried them because I was DESPERATE and they all have excellent reviews (just check Amazon, Ulta's website, acne.org, etc.) and I saw results within one week.
They key ingredients I'm getting from all of these are high (but safe) doses of Vitamin A, E, and Zinc, which I've learned are often lacking in people with acne.
Unfortunately at the same time I also started using a Korean skincare regimen including a product with BHA, which causes a "purge" so once my bad acne cleared up, I still got small whiteheads for about a month. But after a month and a half I am 100% clear, and just working on getting rid of scarring.
I'm not a doctor and like I said, I mixed a lot of things here, so it could be that just one of these things made the difference and the others were extra. But I REALLY recommend doing your own research to see what supplements might work for you in addition to /instead of topical products. I don't think the topical stuff alone would have done it for me. The zinc especially is super cheap -- and said to be good for overall health --so I would recommend starting with that. I hope this helps someone!
I also see the thread started quite a while back but saw the recent comment and highly appreciate and agree! I think you really need to assess your own skin and body and what it needs. Whatever is happening on the skin is usually a symptom of something deeper. I had cystic acne in high school and took topical meds but after some time it didn't seem to have the same effectiveness. I was hit with adult acne (also hormonal, I think, and different pimples) which, due in part to my own self-sabotaging popping, left me with scars.
I still have them, as they are more textural but not colored. I've still had pretty consistent breakouts, despite using acne-specific skin care products, and being religious about taking off any make up. I finally committed more deeply to playing around with my diet and taking a much more natural approach to my skin care regimen. I started using a lot of fresh products and oils, which had mixed results. I've recently started using a really high-quality (read: expensive...but hey, if it works) skin oil. One is a rosehip oil, which I used in the past and broke me out, but this one is working very well. The other is a tamanu (seed/nut) oil and it does have a strong scent but I feel like it is a literal gamechanger. I can see my scars plumping up and fading within what seems like days, but really noticeable after some weeks. I think any high quality oil would work.
I also feel I've had success with eliminating or at least restricting my dairy intake, and it has a big effect on my breakouts.
I'm also more consistent on using my Sonicare to clean my face. If you're a picker, and/or feeling the bumps while you clean your face is unsettling, this really helps to deep clean your skin and rinse your mind of the issue.
This is the first time I feel like I don't have a single pimple on my face somewhere, and it's such a good feeling!
I hope this is useful for someone
All my life,I have been dealing with hormonal Acne. What worked for is Evening Primrose and milk thirties caps .A mask of green clay,Apple cider vinegar, turmeric and honey always does the magic.I apply this mask Twice a week and No Acne so far.
Aspirin face mask for me does it. It doesn't clear the tiny ones but it clears the big ugly acne. I use two tabs as a mask twice weekly as it is very drying and it also serves as a good facial exfoliator
Sadly, i had given up on the struggle against acne a long time ago smh.. Its seems to be winning its war on me. Good thing is, its not as ugly as it used to be
