Kojic acid and sun = dangerous?

    Hi everybody,

I would like to have some advices. I go to a trip in some African country in the end of december and I would like to enjoy my time overthere. I used kojic acid soap for three months and heard it was really dangerous to get exposed to the sun. Problem is, I would like to go to the beach with some friends and I would like to know if there is something I can do to not get serious damage to my skin, like reducing sun time exposure for exemple.

Suncreen 15-20mins bf sun exposure and re apply after water splashing. An umbrella will be helpful while at beach. Enjoy yourself and happy vacation

Ok, so sunscreen with high SPF 20 minutes before sun exposure and a lot while at the beach to, ok, thank you. I'm gonna read the forum for the best sunscreens then.

Your correct @mccartney , chemical SS apply and wait 15 mins or so, physical SS (zinc) work immediately.

I'd reapply immediately if swimming or sweating excessively. Otherwise, its good for 2 hours. You can control the amount/application much better with a lotion for more effective protection.
