I am starting a challenge for myself to transform my skin through diet and skin creams. I have had a problem with cystic acne since I was 12 and I get a breakout about every month or every few months depending on my diet. There is a food that triggers my breakouts and I'm trying to figure out. I am going on a strict diet to completely clear my breakouts and then applying creams to fade my hyper pigmentation. I am going on the Auto Immune Protocol Diet for 30 days then I will slowly reintroduce foods to figure out which one is causing my breakouts.
What is the AIP diet? (It's like paleo diet except there are some veggie and fruits you have to avoid.) A person following the diet may be able to eat:
any vegetables, except those from the nightshade family
high-quality seafood that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids
fermented foods
lean meats and liver
small amounts of fruit
oils, such as olive, coconut, and avocado oils
In general, the diet focuses on whole foods and those that do not contain additives such as sugar.
Foods to avoid:
nightshades, such as tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and eggplants
Hello @slayanna , all the best on this new journey will be following it because I'm seriously acne prone too.
I hear Ikb gel might not be so good for acne prone skin as it might trigger breakout, so i tried "Newyork fair and lovely Clarifying gel," and seems to be working fine as its brightening and helping with fading my acne spots.
This is an awesome idea. I too want to dabble in this eventually when I endure in my next food shop. Please do post about any recipes that have come to be your favourite, would be exciting to hear
I just had a severe reaction to carowhite after using it for two days. My skin is sensitive and got irritated. I'm dumping it. I applied ointment to my skin. I'll take a few days to heal and try another product.
If you want even skin while using Carowhite, don’t use the oil. The oil is the main culprit for wide pores, dry skin, red tone and uneven skin. Use a F&W serum instead. Or mix your Carowhite cream with a F&W cream. It helps with the orange tone, chemical smell and uneven skin. But it works slower.
I didn't plan to use it for long..what products have worked for you? I am OK with changing my regimen if there is something that works better. Honestly, I carowhite hasn't given me the results I've been wanting so far. It's been two days only but I used it a year or so ago and the results didn't last. After taking time to think it through... I decided to order a mix today and some Kojic Acid soap. @slayanna I think there are great lotions you can use to even out your skin. You can equally use an exfoliating lotion or kojic acid lotion. I think carowhite will mess your new regimen. You can use a legit 2% hydroquinone lotion and serum but careful with your knuckles
Thanks for sharing your journey especially about your reaction to carowhite since this was going to be my exact regimen for June! But now I'll cancel my order and look into something else maybe mitchell products but idk.. Well good luck to you!!
I feel like crying sometimes because I can't deal with my cystic acne problem anymore. I just want to be healed. Every time I get nice clear skin it comes back. People think I don't use proper products but really I tried everything and it really all comes down to food and hormones. I've been missing the past week as I try to heal from my latest break out. Literally it is so depressing. I am having a hard time sticking to the diet but am pushing myself... @Blackboy The carowhite just does not work for me. The oil on my skin led to bumps. Not cool.

Avoid anything with milk, dairy, lactose. Drink lemon water every morning. Use neutrogena salicylic wash, or dudu osun black soap, witch hazel gel, benzoyl peroxide gel, simple face wash gel, cetaphil lotion, theordinary glycolic toner. Works amazing. If you are gonna use carowhite use the cream with maxiwhite serum, better to not use it for face long term.

Im sorry about that. I hope you find something that can control the acne. When I used Carowhite lotion it actually cleared my acne. I’m very acne prone and Carowhite lotion cleared it up including the spots. When I had a new acne pop up, I applied Carowhite lotion on it and it was gone the next day. Sounds crazy but it’s true for me. The oil on the other hand broke me out.
how long have you used it? How long did it take to see results?
