Horror Hands and Knuckles

Hey guys,

Hope you all are good and shining like the sun..hehe.

I'm going to go straight to the point...MY HANDS NEED HELP. I've got really good skin on other parts of my body but my knuckles are a horror. I've tried Amlactin, GnG, shea butter, gloves in this hot weather but nothing works. I think they just make it worse. I joined SCT 2 years ago and learnt of Floris Duo. I tried it and guess what..it worked..only for a short period. Since then i've been with nothing but regrets about it. Like i should never have used it cos my hands only got worse. :buttheads:

I used to have really beautiful hands and always imagined how lovely they'll look with an engagement or wedding ring on but now they've been destroyed by lightening creams and Floris Duo. Plus they look worse in certain lights and at certain times of the day.

I think most people on this forum that use Amlactin and GnG have nice hands, not problem ones, so those products help maintain, not necessarily convert them from terrible to beautiful.

I'm tired of writing and asking on other posts so i decided to start mine cos i'm sure there are some of my fellow lightening sistas going through the same wahala. It can't be just me..or could it? I need someone with a dark to light knuckles testimonial to help me out

I'm definitely going to post a picture of these embarrassing hands but i'm really busy at work right now. Had to make this post though so that i don't forget.

PS: I'm in Nigeria and don't know if all them GPO, YPO are available or if they'll even help.

Expect photos of the horror hands soon, sweet sistas. And i hope i get a permanent solution  cos sweet caramel skin with black coffee hands aint pretty.

@GlowyGoddess002 I haven't started the GA peel yet I've only do e a very mild LA peel, lol. This is a regimen that I want to try bit wham teddy to make sure it wasn't involving too many acids too soon after each other ...

Depilatory cream/ hair removal cream I have used before and it also has the advantage of removing dead skin and exfoliating. Since it's summer here already, I wanted to start putting the wolf inside on pause and be a hairless cat for a few months:rolleyes:

Plus with the depilatory cream I get the added benefit of reducing and eliminating completely the chance of ingrown hair. I posted the regimen too see if anybody thought it was dangerous.

On weekends I will skin build with
St. Ives collagen cream
Fruit of the earth vitamin e cream
Nivea CoQ10 firming lotion
All natural raw shea butter
Weekday mornings: Olay quench lotion with B3
@moonmaiden I have the vitamin c serum and hyaluronic acid together in the same bottle as it makes it ore into a serum feel. I wanted to follow it up with my Olay quench with niacinamide in it (aftrr it absorbs of course) any thoughts?

lol a hairless cat , where'd you get the depilatory cream?? Okay the glycolic should do better than the la on your joints..as long as you don't over do it. I'm trying maxi peel on mines, I have yet to see results. Do you use any oils? Like sweet almond, Brazil nut oil, etc?

Awww thank you @moonmaiden we are Estill battling the end did of the cold here with sniffles but I barely had energy to shower let alone lotion up! Lol
@GlowyGoddess002 you know how it is! I'm lazy with shaving in the winter I tell my husband my hair is there to keep me warm but in the summer there's no place for that. You can get depilatory cream in any pharmacy, walmart or online. I use Sally Hansen cream hair remover because Nair is too strong on my skin and doesn't get all the hair imo. Sally Hansen also has different formulas for sensitive skin all the way to coarse hair. I get on the shower slather it on wait 8 minutes turn the shower on and wipe it off with a gentle puffy loofah. Then shower with gentle soap and your done! Easy fast hairless cat:cool:

Sorry, guys........these are questions us girls gotta ask :p

Hey pretty @moonmaiden so I do have the hyaluronic acid with the vitamin c together now I wanted to use the Olay niacinamide after the serum in the morning, but why do u think I won't be able to handle it? I will wait a few minutes after I apply the serum to apply the lotion. Is there a chance of irritation or is it because of the combo?

Go for it love i just didn't want you to get irritation it was just a precautionary measure To see how you tolerate it but i think you should be fine.

@gymrat no worries I apply only where there is hair on the external flower petals, not the inner flower petals, even though some does move onto the skin I don't experience any irritation or adverse reactions whatsoever. I notice when I use this my skin there does lighten, I have even tried it as a Brazilian wax front to all the way back. No problems:) my husband says I practically look like a pornstar afterwards. . (Tmi? Lol)

There is no itching and I barely ever get ingrown in that area with depilatory creams as I am very prone to them, I just make sure to use it at night as I like to just moisturize with some oil and let my skin relax all night, for really thick hair you can use an old credit card to wipe the cream off (and yes I have done this, works like wonder)

If your concerned about it they sell this cream hair remover for men who like to keep a shaved head without the shaving.

:rofl::rofl:gotta do it just for that!!

Awwh great idea with the credit card, funny, cuz I use a credit card when I itch from my lactic, keep it by my bed, works like a champ!!

O and remember to use gloves! I hate getting it under my nails
Awesome idea, I will do this for sure! Hate getting crap under my nails

#798 ·
O yea @gymrat leaves the flower hair free and baby smooth days longer than shaving! Plus guys can use it too, so convenient and no irritation whatsoever! I love it, that's why I was asking how long I had to wait after depilatory cream to use acids/ peels. Thanks to @Fluffington and @moonmaiden I know u need 2 days of pampering
YIKES!! ....... @TanYummy you aren't using LA on your flower are you?? :scared: What peels are you talking about?? Hopefully not there.......

#800 ·
Well... @gymrat I want to use la there , gentle... I feel like I have thicker skin there (flower) than anywhere else on my body... and I will be using GA peel on my elbows, knees, feet and hands... the cream hair remover I like to use on my arms legs , underarms and flower.. what do u think? Maybe yes? Maybe no...?

#809 ·
Yeep! @gymrat I want the skin there to be the same as the rest of my skin, (there's a dark cave surrounding my flower:scared:)
LOL this is why I wanted to use peels. When I wear low rise bikini you can see the color diff..... not hot my friend, not hot... View attachment 18625
Instead of la peel, try a mild la lotion - 5% worked wonders for me ...

Haahahaajajaa! @AIME maintained +aerviceable!

Girl please me and my husband barely have sex because at the beginning, like before babies I would dress up with sexy clothes and high heels..
.now he expects it every time....I hate that! Sometimes I just want to get it over with , I don't want to put on a cirque de solei every single time, makes me mad especially because I don't want to show my body like used to before baby.. now it's mommy body:p

Most men are just happy to see A NAKED WOMAN! But when u get them used to special stuff they expect it all the time! This is flower issues people :scared:

But please being realistic , it's not like their such a prize

#815 ·
Hehehee , you got him used to 5-course meal dinning ... Now he's gotta learn how to eat off a plate and be done with it ... Men can be such stubborn babies at times gurl ....

#812 ·
I've been MIA (busy schedule) @TanYummy you had me cracking up this "flower garden" pruning is serious. Girl you started off serving juicy steak oh no you should've saved those heels for special occassions and make him work them heels you know when you need jewerly, a trip to Europe or a car. Thanks to you I'll try the shaving cream you posted. I don't grow hair on my armpits or legs thanks god.

Another one who's been fresh on my mind......... @Floreezy, miss you my friend!! Come visit when you get time :knuddel:........I know your lurking on this thread :p
Hahaha, Dead!!! wasn't lucking on this thread but I popped in today and saw that you had mentioned me. I miss you too :kisskiss:.

Ok, you guys fill me in, what have I missed? I'm in Athens getting fairer while everyone around me is getting tanned. I did get a tan too went down to NC45 but I'm binding and casting to lift it and it is working back to NC42. I wondered why I tanned without being out of the sun much, cuz I stopped that vampire life, then I learnt Greece has a much higher UV index and even on a cloudy day you tan without realising. I must say I have not been using sunscreen. I just try to avoid to avoid the sun as much as I can without becoming a recluse. My detractors are trying to get me to go to the beach every weekend, two days in a row. The devil is a liar!!!

#857 ·
That's great. You should be the g&g poster child! SAP is key, I am going to searching for a sunscreen for my neck and arms. I hate the smell of sunscreen though, I hope I find a nice one. The sunscreens hear are mainly the ones you find all over Europe, Garnier, Shiseido, Nivea...I haven't found zinc sunscreens, but I haven't been looking at one in particular and oh the dreaded white cast!!!
Im still using the banana boat baby sunscreen. I tried burn out and didn't like it at all. Something about the texture wasn't right for me. When I read the reviews in Amazon people were complaining that they changed the formula. The one I have been using for the past two years have worked for me and I go though tubes of that stuff. You get the white cast in the beginning but then it goes away and I swear it makes me appear even lighter!

Thanks, I don't think they have the banana boat here. I tested this one yesterday it leaves a bit of a white cast but doesn't smell bad, it costs about 6 euros.

And this one by Nivea which goes on like a moisturising lotion, with no white cast and costs 14 euros.

They have very similar ingredients. @gymrat where are you?

Hey ladies & gents,

Just wanted to share a "knuckle" story. I know a friend of my sister who swears by civic for her knukles and toes and her hands and feet are flawless and says that when they lighten up she just maintains with it every once in a while. She showed me the lemon one and the normal one.

Now as you all know, civic is harmful as it contains clobetasol.

Her results are tempting but i don't want the risks and those nasty burnt knuckles.

What do you all think?

Hi the YPO works. I had made myself a body wash using Kojic san powder, Skin active shine control gel by garnier and lactic acid. It gave me a mild peel. It cleared my face and i intend to use it on my down time. Back to the YPO: I am sure you have found another solution since your post was from 2015 but i recently started selling the YPO. I wanted to try it out before selling it to others. It works really well. I applied only 3 times the same day 15 minutes interval. I didn't realize i was meant to do it for 3 straight days. I kept a log. I started May 1st and i took a shower May 4th. By May 4th to 5th i was peeling. The itch came after the first shower once the skin dried. I used the hydrocort cream and it worked wonders. After that my skin started to peel in sheets. Before this i hadn't been able to peel my leg and my feet. I had tried the Lactic acid DIY mix prior and they worked really well but this was much better. No discomfort except the inch.
Every time i showered my skin peeled in sheets. I did my lower body from my bum to my feet and i am still peeling. I intend to start using my kojic san soap once the peel stops. I am doing my arms and my back next. I wear only long sleeve clothing. Let me know if you have questions or need additional information.:D

ooh @shawtykid20 ur on the carotone too?:D

Not to be off topic @gymrat @AIME and @cherries but the depilatory cream has helped with wxfoliayion, (everywhere) FYI and I feel like I look lighter too. It may just be the lightener are penetrating better... or the hairiness was making me look darker
.......I know when you wax and or are threaded exfoliation happens, not sure when you use the creams. @TanYummy I couldn't find the sensitive one anywhere so I had to order it online. Unless I was looking in the wrong isle, which is always possible :p

#836 ·
Hey @@gymrat they usually have them by the razors and shave cream, some tests I've seen them in feminine isle or even where the have body washes, lotions, I usually ask people that work there if they know where to find them. Keep in mind that target also gas them but for 3$ more..
