Happy new year everyone.
I thought I'd come back with an update and thank everyone as well.

Xiv, thanks for the piment doux advice, I tried it as a last resort because I had reached my wits end with trying everything the majority of which gave temporary results.

I tried the piment doux, it peeled nicely , I observed that it didn't peel in sheets, it was a gradual process over close to two weeks and once the peeling process was done, the revealed skin matched the rest of my body( if not even lighter, cos I had to keep using shea butter to achieve some tan for uniformity). My hands have remained mostly clear since then. I have not had to resort to using piment doux again, because I haven't had the need to
although I still keep a bottle or two to hand just in case. My hands look much better now, they are not perfect or spotless but compared to what it used to be in the past, I am content with how they look.
My confidence is restored and I don't have to necessarily hide my hands. I have had people who knew how bad my hands were ask me how I turned my hands around after trying virtually everything, including going to a highly reputed dermatologist who told me nothing could be done and I had to live with my two toned hands for the rest of my life( I cried for the most part of my two hour train journey back home). So being able to achieve some level of normalcy is a big deal to me.

I have attached some pics, p.s I am currently in a hot weather region and been spending alot of time outdoors(something I couldn't have tried one year ago) so a few areas have darkened quicker but those were always my problem spots anyway.amd trying to get rid of them was the genesis of my hand issues. As soon as I get back to my base, i intend to spot treat the darker than usual areas , not with peels this time, just exfoliating and moisturing and i know it will blend eventually.I am pleased and equally grateful to everyone who has supported me re my hand ordeal. Thanks alot and many blessings 🙏
This is great progress! congratulations on your new hands! I know what a pain it is and how horrible it can make you feel. It looks 1000% better, and it can only get even better from here!

Hi Guys,

Thought I would give some info here as I battled with my knuckled for YEARS! and a lot of trials and error and I know what works for me. I was part of SCT years ago on a diff account but now I am re-lightening my skin as my hands are...getting better. Here's my progress pics to show...

Hand before:

Hand now:

What destroyed it? Chemical peels lol, that thing is the devil if you do too much

Anyway here's my regimen

The ordinary 30% AHA/BHA acid 2x a day (morning and night) - its gentle, but if used 2x a day everyday for 10mins each time, it'll micro-peel within a week without causing PIH.

ALSO previously pink peeling oil worked for me - I got it from Rixari but idk where else to find it, I did 2x a day for 2 days and it did the same job - I redid again 2 weeks after healing

Hydroquinone (etsy, ebay is your friend if you're in UK) - the very thing that causes the issue for some people. I applied this 2x a day (mixed with 0.5% tretinoin I got from Spain) and did this after the peeling treatment everyday. You said no HQ...so maybe Alpha arbutin will help but it will be MUCH slower!

This took me....1.5-2 months? I am still working on it, its not perfect but the sun can take you back to square 1 in one second (summer time is hard!!).

I made the ugly mistake of using 60% GA on my knuckled (I ran out of the ordinary peel) and it made my hands a little darker!!! so now I'm reusing the ordinary again to get my hands back.

So I wear UPF50+ hand gloves (fingerless) during the day, I get strange looks from people sometimes but I had stranger looks when my hands were the before pic so, choose your devil.

This might work on you, or not. Hopefully it does! Now I am working on my body - I was a NC44.4 last year (LOVED IT) but my body wasn't even, so I took a break and redarkened. Now I'm using GA/LA 17% lotion to exfoliate before I start my lightening journey again.
Hi there! Please when you say Chemical peels destroyed it, you mean the peels made it darker? I tried the TCA peel to lighten my knuckles and elbows, and they only got worse. Is the same thing that happened with yours? Isn't the AHA/BHA a peel also like the TCA? I'm so scared to use any other peel again.

hey guys found another good combo for those hard knuckles twice a day

put am lactic cream

rub it on your knuckles until it absorbs than follow it by applying dodo lotion

than finish it off with piment doux

this 3 combo has been doing wonders to my knuckles recently decided to do weekly 55% lactic peels on my knuckles (every sunday that day of applying the peel I don't do the usual mix)
and it seems to speed up my progress even more

my other suggestion that also worked wonders also involved a dodo product (serum)
so I think dodo line is really good for stubborn areas
I will try to replace the dodo lotion with the cream and see if it gives me even better results

What 55% lactic peel do you use please? What is it called and where do you get it from? You apply it once every Sunday? Or a double layer coating ?

I’ve found a great way to even knuckles is to occlude at night with pimont deux. I used to rub my hands in the serum till fully absorbed. Put on my cotton gloves then further occlusion with a latex/latex free glove. Obviously it goes without saying never put your bare hands in a latex glove over night !!! But the final occlusion of the latex glove over a cotton mitt generates more heat and allows for better penetration of the product.

I messed around with TCA, Jessners, lactic acids etc etc doing layers on layers. TCA always gave wonderful results but it would inevitably revert back. If you wished I would say aha would be a gentler progressive option than TCA, they are not the same ! But the above mix mentioned by brownies or myself is the way forward !
