Hi,

My name is Mushi. I have noticed the appearance of some age spots/sun spots on my face esp. on my cheeks and nose .They look ugly as I am very fair. Pls I would really appreciate if anybody can help me with suggestions of how to get rid of them.

Thanks.

Hi Mushi,

You can try applying a mixture of lemon juice and cucumber juice on your age spots. This treatment is known for fading scars and spots. You can give it a try?

There are a number of products that address this problem -- I guess it's because so many of us have sun damaged skin. I just started using Reversa -- it has timed release glycolic acid formula -- too soon to report results.

Mari, If you dont mind telling me, Im just wondering what anti aging products do you use on your skin at the moment, thankyou?
I use every morning Cellex-C Serum, followed by Hydra B 5 complex
I use a sun block and then use Cellex-C Sea Silk Oil-Free Moisturizer (if I'm going out). Before applying any makeup I apply Skinn Cosmetics Orchid Gel This product minimizes lines, pores and keeps my face from getting too oily.
or, if I'm staying home all day I'll skip the Hydra B 5 and use the Borba
line I'm now trying out. I apply Borba Age Defying Targeted Wrinkle Treatment to any visible lines including frown lines and follow with Borba Age Defying Wrinkle Repair
Eye cream I use is Aloette Eye Recovery Pro

I use mineral makeup and like the Eminence line (except I hate the application brush) SPF 60.
Eyeshadow is Bare Minerals

In the evening I use Borba Age Defying Micro-Diamond Cleanser
(which you can leave on as an anti-aging mask)
I follow that with Reversa Anti-Spot Night Care
Eyecream Olay Total Effects

Other products I use -
The Stonecrop Eminence line
Beta Ginseng Cellagen Renewal serum
Aloette Age Defiance Firming Serum
Aloette Lumintone HP Pro Brightening Serum (I use this product when I get up and my skin looks grey)
Aloette Calming Cream (if my skin has any redness issues)

I was using the Aloette nano technology line but gave it up as I was not comfortable using a product that I didn't understand the technology.

I have other products I on hand that I might use that includes Skinn and Elizabeth Grant cosmetics

Any questions why, let me know.

Hi Mari,

Out of curiosity, how many times do u exfoliate ur face in a week? Doesn't regular exfoliation cause skin thinning?
Thanks
I exfoliate at least 2X a week. Because I have quite oily skin in the summer I often do it 3X. If my skin is breaking out a lot feels sensitive because of the cold weather I will use a mild oatmeal soap which has some exfoliating properties. I recently bought the Diamond Cleanser from Borba which has some exfoliating effect. I don't believe regular exfoliation causes skin thinning, I haven't looked inot this but my skin is sensitive and I have a lot of allergies -- and my skin looks better since I started exfoliating regularly.

Hey you really don't need a lot of cosmetics -- I just happen to be a bit of a cosmetic junkie. Assess your skin -- what does it need? Basically you just need products to clean, hydrate -- then address other problem areas. (If you're living in NY I would add an exfoliant).

I have learnt my lesson of not wearing sunscreen just recently!! Mushi, ALWAYS wear a sunscreen or sunblock when you go out even on cloudy days! This will prevent further age spots appearing and also prevent them from darkening. I know it's not the answer to ur question but prevention is always better than cure.
Cheers

Thanks Mari. I have got oily skin too. I am currently exfoliating once a week. Is it not enough do you think? My exfoliating product is Olay. I like it with its microparticles but the scent is too strong though. I need to finish it before looking for a another one. Any recommendation anyone??
