Anyone knows solutions to acne problems?

I have been suffering from acne problems and sometimes they really get worse. I have tried many of the anti-acne products available but I am not satisfied with them as I feel that the results they give are just a matter of time. Can anyone suggest me a good remedy for this?

My friend came back from a trip to LA about 2weeks ago and her acne face is almost all better!!

She told me that she bought an acne set from a little boutique on Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills... it was ONLY $12.99 for 3products, cleanser, moisturizer and troubleshooter. i wonder if it will work for me or not... $12.99... worth trying, right?

Maybe her skin improved from eating tofu. I too started eating it after laughing at it for years. I went to LA, started eating it, and my complexion improved remarkably.

No topical will give you a long term cure from acne. You need to adress both the internal and external. It is important to get alot of omega 3's because they rid the body of inflammation which causes acne flare up and you need to avoid bad oils and foods that contain omega 6 because this oil leads to internal inflammation and acne. The products you choose to use should not be to drying because it will only temporarily rid your skin of acne and in the long term age your skin much quicker. So I highly recommend finding a non-comedogenic natural moisturizer to use in combination with any benzoly peroxide or salicylic acid based product you may be using so that the skin is not being robbed of it's elasticity and health. There are a lots of good product lines out there that are natural and desigend for acne-prone skin. I see clients all the time who have relied on proactive and thier skin is aged way beyond its years. Its all about finding balance in your life with food, supplements, skincare and of course emotional and mental balance.

You know to be honest there really ISNT a cure to acne. You either have it or you don't. I have fought it most of my 40 years. I have tried just about everything known to mankind. Topical, antibiotics, cleansers, laser, blue light treatments, etc. You name it, I tried it.

There isn't a supplement/vitamin, certain food, cleanser, toner, topical, Rx, etc that will make your acne go away. Some will out grow it, others will battle with it forever. It is just something that you have no control over. Sure there are things you can do to keep it at bay. Depending on how severe your acne is. I can say I never had a "clear face day" in 20 years. I always had lumps and bumps on my face. The kind that hurt like @$#%!! I had cystic acne. Most wouldn't pop, and they would stay red and inflamed for EVER!

In the end, the only thing that helped me was taking Accutane. AND it was the one thing I tried to avoid at all costs. I only wish I would have taken it sooner so I could have enjoyed an acne free complexion in my 20's and 30's, rather than waiting til my 40's!

I had acne since I was 16..and only at the age of 21 I found a cure. The secret which I didn't know is that you have to be extra sensitive with what you use to treat your acne...So now my cleanser is ph balanced, and doesnt contain any skin irritating components, then I apply a thick layer of benzoyl peroxide 2.5%, and then after its fully absorbed into the skin I use moisturizer mixed with jojoba oil (which is non comedogenic). So basically the only component which actively fights acne is benzoyl peroxide. The problem is that a lot of manufacturers stuff acne fighting ingredients such as salycilic acid into every step of skin care regimen, which is wrong and overly irritating for the skin causing it to break out more. I buy my supplies from acne.org - and I highly recommend you do the same, as once I discovered the right regimen my acne started to decrease, and now my skin is totally under control and breaks out only once in a blue moon. Good luck!!!!
I'm glad you found something that works, Demo, but Benzoyl Peroxide can release free radicals and age the skin faster than you would like, so it's a trade-off between good skin now/bad skin later.

Smart Skin Care: Acne and skin aging

Still, if you must use it, at least you are using a low strength!

I have been using Panoxyl for my acne which is not a major issue right now, it is a mild form and this has worked fine on it so far.

Fawnie you said that right!! Good skin now/bad skin later. That is exactly what BP does. It causes more damage than what it is worth.
i use pifzer's dalacin-t topical lotion (it is a prescription lotion).
It depends on your acne. Do you get cysts buried deep that take weeks to come to surface?
I'm in my 40's and I recently began getting cysts "again" around my jawline. I say "again" because I had severe cystic acne in my 20's that left me with some scarring. Ick! I feel for anyone who has this frustrating skin disorder. I found a fantastic dermatologist who put me on a prescription of spironlactone, which is my new beauty miracle. Within 2 weeks - no more cysts.. I know with my acne it's hormones so
for me this drug worked. Has anyone else on here been on spironlactone?
That sounds good! but would it help I wonder if these people tried the aspirin mask? heaven knows it couldn't hurt to try and it's pretty darn cheap!

Giashana, no I never tried the spironlactone. I have heard great things about it though. I bit the bullet and went on Accutane for 6 months and it cleared me of the adult cystic acne.

Acne can be such a downer so I am glad the spironlactone is working for you, that is awesome. There are so many products out there you just really have to try them and hope one works for you-

There are several great products for acne with Benzoyl peroxide being one of the most frequently used active ingredient.

But possible side effects of the ingredients include redness, dryness and flaking. Personally, my skin reacted in a very sensitive way towards benzoyl peroxide. My face literally swelled up and became so red and dry it lasted for about a week.

So here is a natural but effective acne treatment for you.

Cucumber treatment:

Liquify a peeled cucumber in a blender and apply the juice to the acne. Another variation of this remedy is to drink four or five cups of cucumber juice daily for a week. This is said to purify the blood and lymphatic system, resulting in a clearer skin. Or simply, eat a cucumber daily as a snack.

Living proof: My best friend struggled with acne covered all over her face. Since she started to eat a cucumber for about a month, acne disappeared. Her face has never been clearer now.

If you struggle with acne problems, please try this and experience how cucumber will improve your skin.

hi jenna,
It is very good for your skin if you drink a lot of water, eat plenty of fruit, veggies etc.
you could try and get a topical lotion called DALICIN.
Here in the UK it is only available on prescription, however it may be easier for you to get where you are.
i have not come across anyone yet who has said they have not had damn good results!!
try and get it and good luck,,(google it if you feel the need to do so)

A really amazing product for acne is Obaji. They are amazing products. If its more teenage skin you need to be using Clenziderm, or if its adult acne use the Nu-derm range. With Nu-derm you must see a doctor as you need a precription but not your normal GP. The reults are fantastic and even with Clenziderm you are garunteed results in two weeks!!.

Also check your make up your using, make sure your not using any liquid foundations, the best one to use is id bare mineral make up. It is the only mineral make which uses minerals ( not like max factor etc advertise) it will actually help to feed your skin and not clog up the pores.
