It is more known to promote hair growth. It is also said to help minimize the effects of premature aging. As many things claim that!! You just have to be careful which you believe and which are bogus!!
Before you take anything, just do your research, don't just take ones word!
This is from the longevita.com website that sells bamboo silica:
FUNCTIONS OF SILICON
1)Functions as a cross-linking agent, providing strength and resilience to collagen & elastin connective tissues:
2)Essential for bone & cartilage collagen synthesis present as silicic acid in mucopolysaccharides, the structural components of connective tissues:
3)Essential for bone calcification: p> 4)Stimulates growth:
5)Required for the proper functioning of the enzyme prolyhydroxylase that functions in the formation of collagen in bone, cartilage and other connective tissues.
Any silica supplement can do that, not just the bamboo kind altho they sell it by stating that it contains a higher % of silica. Whatever. BioSil is one that I take for hair/skin/nails/bones. It seems to work OK, but I am not selling it! LOL
Fawny strides to an easy win. But look out for phoney silica, which is non-organic , or non-bio-available SiO2 - silicon dioxide.
homeopathic SiO2 ( which is in all water ) will do fine, that is if running over
rocks for millions of years dissolves silica. You'll get plenty when U go to the beach. Other that that, trust your makeup kit with its dimethicone - plenty of organic silicon there, hard to assimilate - but who knows ? SiO2 ?
Silicon Dioxide ...
When you see this on the label , its useless in the body, but great for
glassmaking - just add it to the furnace. It will not dissolve except in hydroflouric acid, so don't get conned with your $ ...
