I'm a bit of a novice. I've been using bio Claire but my problem with it leaves my knuckles so dark and I'm black so it's annoying. I've heard of skin peeling but I don't know what that method involves. Please share your methods with me and warn me against any products I should use thanx.

Heey,
exfoliation is the key, I dunno your skin type or what type of exfoliation you would prefer so check out some threads on exfoliation, use the search bar, and when looking at threads with a large amount of posts use the search this thread.

This is for newbies:

For more threads just use the search button.

For my exfoliation I have found the
Kojic San Soap good however it is very drying
DIY Lactic Acid (you can search and this is a very good thread for the calculation as it provides a spreadsheet http://www.skincaretalk.com/t/39631/i-made-a-simple-tool-for-diying-la-lotion, 2-5% on face I hear is usually good for beginners and 12-18% for body is good for beginners.)
Botanicals radiant glow exfoliating bar is also very good, it has AHA's (exfoliants) and goats milk

+ remeber sunscreen LOL. I use Garnier Ambre Solaire Light and Silky spf 50

Yaah hope this helps sorry it was long

hey so i made this post ages ago. but only recently started exfoliating. and i have so many questions

so i read on the newbie page and it said that i should not even bother using a lighting cream until 4-6 weeks. i am very dark. (thanks to the devil that is bio claire)

i am on my first week on ex foliating and i bought carolight tub cream should i start using it on my body or wait the 4-6 weeks before i do so.
also read that i during the ex-foliating period i should mix an LA/GA with my favourite body lotion. so should i add it to the carolight (which i checked already has a small percentage of GA) or just mix it in with my normal body lotion?

also read about the serums that help with lightenting should i use the serums serperate or mix it in with with my fav lotion. if its ok for me to use carolight at this early stage should i mix it in with the carolight.
