There are several pant extracts and anti oxidants that can help keep pores unclogged. They are used in many well known brands both to keep skin clear and as an anti wrinkle agent. There are too many to list but some of the popular ones are green tea extract, pomegranate extract/oil, sea weed extracts, vitamin c, vitamin B5. If you can find a serum with any of these that would help the skin loosen up the keratinization that trap skin oils and skin cells in the pores.

Some of the agents that can help clear out the clogged pores are oil soluble and the lightest oils like jojoba oil, rosehip oil, almond oil, apricot oil will penetrate the sebum and keep it from getting stuck in the pores. Sebum can be a bit sticky and these oils help it come to the surface of the skin. Some recommend staying away from the rose hip oil and almond oil if you have problems with brake outs, others recommend them as a way to help these conditions. I guess we react different to these oils and have to try them out to see what happens.

This might be enough to get rid of those blackheads and will be good for skin in many ways. If you have to reach for more potent stuff, salicylic acid is my favorite and very commonly used. It can be found both in cleansers and creams and most effective as peels. Other hydroxy acids can also help and are not as drying as salicylic can be.

I have found that focusing on the different ingredients in skin care is the most effective way to find something that works, as the different products and brands often are much the same.

I would love to hear different approaches to this subject :)

The key is to exfoliate. I personally LOVE the Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid or gel (depends on your preference) it's awesome! you can use on your whole face and it rocks for attacking blackheads! Start by using it every 3 days, than 2 days. If used 2 x's a day because I know you'll love the result, that's over kill, you will peel & dry out. And it's reasonable priced...not Organic, unfortunately but a product none of my clients go without!

AND..it's topical, you do not rinse off and goes down your drain doing absolutely nothing for your problem.

It's about $19.00 a bottle. Don't forget your Antioxidant serum to follow!! Keeps pollution & dirt off your face. :)

Clay masks, scrubs and Salicylic Acid. Oh, and regular facials! I don't think you will get rid of them forever but these are good ways to maintain and hope they dont get too large and gross and clogged! Seriously I could squeeze my nose every hour and it keeps coming back! I love Mario badescu temporary lifting mask. Its so cool It hardens up so tight and then when you rinse it the pores look so small.

You can also try the aspirin mask. Heard it's good for blackheads and large pores. If you want to know more, try googling it.

Hope this helps!
