I have pretty small pores really but they're still visible so i would like to try and make them smaller. Recently i read that the colder water you cleanse with the smaller your pores will become. Is this true or not??
And how the hay do you cleanse with water? I cleanse with cleanser..not water????

You should usen't use hot or cold water since they can break blood vessels on your face, in particular close to the base of the nose and on the cheeks. When they say cleanse with water, they actually mean rinsing the cleanser off with water, not using water as actual wash media.

What you should do is wash your face with cleanser and WARM water, and then splash cooler water once you're done.
If you can avoid using tap water on your skin, that's even better. Some people keep bottled water by their bathroom sink for this purpose. Also, I wrote about how beneficial shower filters can be, here: Skincare and Shower Filters
That's an excellent idea. I'll be sure to look for one in the near future. I wonder how much they cost.
I second what freddy said--you should use lukewarm water.
I always use a mild cleanser on my skin. I have sensitive skin and it is hard for me to use any kind of product on my face. Oatmeal is a great cleansing, agent. Also oatmeal tightens your skin as well as making it feel very soft and moisturized. Warm water is best. I shower with hot water and taht opens the pores then I wash my face and rinse with cool water to close the pores back up. I would try oatmeal and see what that does to tighten you pores.

I use toner and spot treatment after I wash so if I splash with cold water after washing, won't that close my pores and then prevent the medication from the toner and spot treatment from going into my skin?
I wash my face with warm water and then pat dry with a soft towel. I can't use cold water at all as it makes my face all red
