On the "Anti-Aging" Forum there is a thread on making your own Vitamin C serums. I have learned a lot from others who have shared their experiences and have started making my own simple serum and love it.

Now - what other potions are you folks brewing up in your kitchens?

For a great homemade face softener, try this: mash a banana and apply it to your face. Leave on for ten minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. Your face feels like satin. Plus, it puts those over ripe gooey bananas to good use!

That would save us a bundle Peri and we'd be able to use it by the vat like we are sposed to!

No special concoctions brewing for me ATM, but I like to use avocado oil for body lotion on moist skin in the winter....it's thick enough to stay on and softens well. Rosehip seed oil for the face. Argan oil for the hair..Pretty simple.

You're right, Fawnie. Keeping it simple and natural helps the skin look better than using all these chemical skincare products. I am thinking of replacing my moisturiser with facial oil myself.

I'm waiting for the day we can try and make our own sunscreen. With the "goodies" that are used in europe.
Hey Periwinkle, thanks for your info on the ACV toner. I am definitely gonna try it tonite but my question is can I use tap water instead of distilled water and still get the same effect? I am trying to get rid of some acne scars and heard this toner helps get rid of them and is good for oily skin. I do not have a spray bottle though. I guess it's ok if I apply with a cotton ball??

Cheers.

Filtered or distilled would be best but I suppose tap water would be fine.
Applying with a cotton ball is fine.
