im no means an expert but what about a facial peel? no offence to anyone who does like it but i think botox looks awful! Also just a suggestion for now but get your hairdresser to cut a fringe that way when you do go out no one need see your lines!! Just if you do do this keep your hair tied back and out your face when your not out and about as can give you spots round your hair line!!

Thanks for the suggestion, dear. Does facial peel help with facial lines?? I've never tried it before and is it painful??

Chemical peels shouldn't hurt, but they're not exactly comfortable either.

Botox looks bad when a monkey does the injections. When done properly you shouldn't notice that the procedure has been done. Perhaps you've seen people that have gone an inexperienced person.

May be but hey, Personally I just dont like the whole idea of botox thing, would rather stay away from it If I can do think peels and microdermabrasion are just more for me!

Just go to someone you can trust and talk to properly before getting anything done to your face!!

ask freddy but are peels not more effective? just get a friend to come with you whilst having procedure done, at least you get some support that way!!

Also try not to stress to much Do things to take the worry you have out of your mind as much as possible for example I love pilates, yoga is also great one for relaxing and I love cooking, dancing too, and watching tv, great things to keep your mind relaxed as well as looking after yourself will do your body great favours in long run!!

its ok just be careful with frindge cause can lead to some spots round forehead

Before getting anything done go under British Association of Cosemtic Surgery before doing anything as there you can find proper doctors and nurses in your area that actually know what they are doing, dont let anyone touch your face may do more harm than good!!

Hi NY - I'm confused, could you explain how getting a fringe could lead to spots? Isn't a fringe just what we here would call "bangs"? Translation needed for some like me!

And could you be more specific and recommend a peel to start with? I have frown lines too and might want to try one. Thanks!

Thanks,
Pumi.
I couldn't resist answering your question Pumi since I too suffered the same angst. I squinted as a child and as I grew older the squint lines became frown lines. I tried to get rid of them by microabrasion, creams, fillers -- you name it but the products and procedures didn't work. I was devastated one day when my boss asked why I always looked angry. I replied that perhaps he'd like to pay for a surgical procedure. I explained the situation, he was very embarassed and knowing my temperment believed I'd lodge a complaint so he gave me a raise. With the raise I had the lines removed surgically. The emotional lift I got was incredible, most of my co-workers could not believe the difference it made in my appearance. The lines did come back after several years and I have been trying to "fix" them; during a visit to a surgeon recently I asked about Botox and he did not advise it. There are chemical skin relaxers that help. Borba skin line has one and strivectin has a product that use over several months supposedly reduces deep wrinkles into fine lines. I hope this helps.

Hi ya, this is just what i have been told and may be its incorrect info but i have been told it is that the sweat and just from having the fringe on my forehead and is what has cause my spots on forehead and the dry skin, cause im not letting the skin on face breathe enough, but hey this is just what iv been told by my beauty therapist, but as I have said before Iv always very good skin and recently for me I have developed these slight spots, now I just got told to be careful cause yes I do have a fringe but then again I do also think the anti aging products were too harsh for my skin type!!

As far as peels are concerned I really do not much about them and just gave the suggestion, cause I hate thought of botox personally but everyone is different, people like freddy are far more clued up on this sort of thing than me!! Im still trying to get my head round getting best one sorted out for myself!! Sorry may be should of said that to start with!! All I do know is is that gylonical facial peels which are just mild ones apparently do not help with facial lines but a stronger one might do!!

Im just learning stuff as I go along reading different bits of info from vaious sites, other people are far far more clued up than little old mexx

I used the Stivectin deep wrinkle serum for about nine months on my forehead wrinkles and finally gave up because it was not doing anything for me. Maybe it prevented them my forehead wrinkles from getting worse, I don't know, but I think that surgery is the way to go at some point.

Mari - what kind of surgery was it, if I may ask?

I knowthat part of it is genetic (my dad also has forehead wrinkles), but I am doing my part to minimize them. For one, I make a real effort not to frown during the day - in the hope of minimizing the lines between my eyebrows (also called an "11"). And I wear "Frownies" at night in that spot to keep me from frowning at night while I sleep, and I must say that after a year of doing so it has helped alot.
