I moisturize my hair every week. But, yet, it always gets so dry. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I rarely use heat on my hair, and I use a very gentle shampoo. I always wear a satin cap on my hair when sleeping.

What are you using? Is your hair natural or chemically treated? How often do you wash your hair? Would you consider your natural hair's curl pattern to be "tight", loosely coiled, springy or etc? These clues would help us formulate a possible solution.

My hair is chemically treated. But I only wash about 3-4 times a month, and I use a gentle shampoo and condition afterwards. I have naturally tight curls. And I try to grease my hair weekly.

Grease is the only thing that works for my hair. I tried using oil moisturizers and other water-based formulas only to find that they actually worsened the condition of my hair.

Do you get your hair cut/colored professionally? Whenever my hair is feeling pretty dry, I have my hairdresser put in a conditioning treatment which sits on my wet hair for 10-15 min & it's good for at least 8 months! If you want me to ask her what it is, I'd be more than happy to get a name for you.

Have you tried coconut oil?
I massage my scalp with it than run it generously through my hair the night before i wash my hair so it is an overnight treatment just put a towel over your pillow before you go to bed so you don't get greasy stains .
I find the coconut oil to be to greasy to use in the day as i don't want to walk around with oily hair but it is fine if you use a tiny amount i mean tiny just rub it into your hands so you have a really light coating than run it through your hair concentrating on the ends.

another option would be to try a natural shampoo and conditioner, there are tones out there for all different types of hair try to get as close to 100% natural as possible , i was quite amazed how much of a difference switching to natural made .

Mix equal parts:
Olive oil,
Castor oil,
Coconut oil,
Grapeseed oil,
Argan oil

For 100ml:
10 drops of lavender EO
10 drops of rosemary EO

Apply to scalp and hair. Put a warm towel on your head to help penetration. Warm again the towel when it gets cool. Do this for at least an hour and then shampoo and condition as usual.
After the shower apply a silicon based serum mixed with some drops of argan oil. Apply the mixture to damp hair.

Maybe you should lessen how much you chemcially treat your hair. I think that's the culprit. Once you use chmeicals you have to use highy quality products to keep the hair in tip top shape.

I would go with a good washing with a clarifying shampoo and a deep conditioning with a thick conditioner. I has to be rich and thick. A deep conditioning is just when you leave it on for a while or help it penetrate better by using heat. The clarifying is to make sure your hair is clean so that the conditioner does it job. After that, use a great leave in and oil to seal. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will.

I do Biolustre treatment about 4 times annually. I started this treatment in 2002 and I love it. My hair is naturally curly. I colour my hair frequently and heat straighten it too and have not suffered with overly dry hair. I also do a weekly overnight coconut mix olive oil treatment.
