Dry skin is a result of lack of moisture. Therefore, make sure you use creamy cleansers to wash your face. Likewise, use rich moisturizers as well that help to hydrate your skin intensively!
...and to piggyback onto these great suggestions...always apply moisturizer and/or oil on damp skin to seal the moisture in. I like to spritz my skin with Avene Thermal Water spray before applying my products (and after my C serum).try using Squalane or Emu oil after you moisturize it will give you added moisture and works well. I alternate between the 2 myself.
So you put your C serum on, then spritz? doesn't that dilute the potency of the serum? just wondering ..............and to piggyback onto these great suggestions...always apply moisturizer and/or oil on damp skin to seal the moisture in. Not sure I agree with that theory. I have always had oily skin -- even though now it's pretty well limited to my T-Zone -- I do use moisturizers morning and evening but have a pretty rigorous regime of washing my face twice a day, exfoliating once or twice a week and when I remember using a mask -- sometimes in hot, humid weather I don't moisturize -- no difference in oil production. Well, I'm not the expert! just musing.Dr Obaji's theory is that moisturizers should not be used every day since they make the skin become complacent and quit producing its own natural moisturizers. Here's an interesting post from "vanberge" @EDS Forum:
"I was remembering what Dr. Obagi had said. It's not that the cream/oil is dehydrating, it's that the skin becomes complacent in producing its own oil.
I can also imagine that the skin becomes oil-loaded and un-exfoliated with continuous use of moisturizers. Thus skin acts dry on the surface from dead skin cells sticking together and not shedding as they should. "

Any thoughts?
Thanks for the tips IluvNY, it was time for my evening snack and I mixed yorghurt and honey and put some on my face (that the kind I like ALL natural) I even got the organic yoghurt, I've been bicycling 2 hours this afternoon, and even with my sunscreen 30 SPF my face was kind of red, and I do recall that yoghurt is good for sun burns, I should do this more often! Also Yoghurt and Honey masks are great for dryness and also Raw eggs and honey masks are good too! However getting your skin soft and supple takes time and patience to acheive so dont give up just stick to a routine and you will get there eventually! Aso drink 2 litres of water and have as much raw fruit and veg as you can, make sure they are all differnt in colour too as this will also help with hydration! If you go into your local healthfood store you could prob just buy a tub of hyaluronic serum and just use a good thick moisturizer with that!
