Eyelash Growth

I was wondering what people use to stimulate eyelash growth. My sister had given me a tube of the Jan Marini Eyelash Intervention last Christmas. Within 3-4 weeks, I did notice a difference in the length of my eyelashes. Unfortunately, due to the expense, I have not been able to purchase this item. About two weeks ago, I started using a new eye gel. It is an organic product and contains such ingredients as grapefruit, japanese green tea, cucumber, vegetable glycerine, aloe leaf, and other natural ingredients. A few days ago, I was putting on my mascara and could not believe my eyelashes. They appeared longer. I am thrilled. I am not sure what it is, but I beleive it could be from this gel. It is not my mascara, because I have been using the same product for quite some time. The only other thing that I have done differently, is that I remove my eye make-up by rubbing a small amount of wheat protein cleanser (also from the same line as the gel) around my eyes to easily remove the mascara, eyeline, and shadow, but this does wash off. I did read that grapefruit in some circles beleived to promote hair growth; however, there is no medical documentation to support this. I did write a letter to obtain more information and to see if any other claims have been made regarding this product.

I heard about this product. I think there was something in it that wasn't approved by the FDA and they banned the company from using that ingredient. I'm not exactly sure what happened after that though.
^Weird! What brand is it?

This sounds totally crazy, but I once tried trimming my eyelashes to see if they would grow longer, and they did! I just took off like a milllimeter, but then they grew back longer than they had been before. It really only works once though; i tried it again a couple weeks later and they grew back to normal length.

Putting EVOO on your lashes does make them fuller and longer, though.
Sounds amazing, I want in on it
The product is Bonita Botanicals

She is having a contest to win free products. Click on the Be Bonita Show contest. They did a video and I saw their videos on you tube.

I did get a reply back from Bonita and there are no claims regarding eyelash growth, but I love the product. It does make my lashes nice.
I hear that mascara with Biotin helps eyelashes grow
Desi Gal -- I read about a eyelash conditioner gel (could be the one you are referring to) that had an ingredient in it that was used to treat glacoma. The product has been taken off the market since there was the possibility of some users having a reaction and ending up with a detached retina which could lead to blindness. (Is vanity insanity?)
What is EVOO?
Extra Virgin Olive Oil...seriously, try it. You only need a tiny bit and it's totally natural, so no worries about an allergic reaction.

To be very truthful with you, I used EVOO on my face and around my eyes for over a year - and no eyelash/eyebrow growth for me!

ATM (posted a new thread about it) I'm using a couple of eyelash growth stimulators (been nearly a month now) and somethin' is goin' on - I'm pretty sure!

I'll be posting in my other thread (eyelash serums) regarding progress.

BTW, I'm not using the prostaglandin scary products. I'm down at the cheap end of the market, with Ardell, and Mavala!

I use Revitalash. Its claimed to make lashes longer, darker, thicker and fuller. It took a few weeks to notice a difference, but it did promote thicker lashes for me. My lashes were already fairly long, so to be honest... I did not notice a change there, but they are definitely thicker. And that was my hopeful and intended purpose for using the product.
Luna: how long before you saw an improvement to your lashes?? I have been using it for about 3 weeks, no changes yet

I actually have a box of latisse that my doctor sold to me, but have yet to try it. I had a little eye infection and was too afraid. Also, I bought this without doing my research first. I didn't realize you had to use it for EVER if you want to keep those long lashes
. Don't really want to start with another high maintenence product. I will just keep using my lancome primer and my high definicils mascara, it works great!

Well chelsie, it was very gradual. Somewhere between week 3 and 4 I had thought I had noticed an improvement. Some days I thought I saw it, other days I wasn't sure, but by week 6, I was certain.

Hang in there! In a couple more weeks, I think (hope) you'll see the changes you're looking for.

Yes, sadly this is true. BUT! I have been experimenting with skipping days without applying Revitalash. I have been applying every other day, and so far I have kept the fullness of my lashes. If it continues, next month I will skip every 2 days and see how it goes. And maybe try a twice a week application after that. ??? I dunno.

Since I have been using Revitalash, I no longer use a primer or conditioner. So using the Revitalash is no more work then using the old lash conditioners I used to use.

Luna: how long does one tube lasted??
That's an excellent question. The directions state to apply it just like eyeliner. And that is what I did with my first tube. (I believe the company says that one tube is supposed to last 3 months.) But if you apply it just like eyeliner, it does not last that long. I was applying it, as instructed, like eyeliner and wasting much of the product on my eyelids instead of just where it is needed. The only place it is needed is at the root of the hair follicle. Now I use only the tip of the applicator brush and touch only the area where the follicle grows. This way I am not wasting the product. And as expensive as it can be, I don't want to waste a drop. This last tube has lasted nearly 5 months now, and its not empty yet.

Hi Luna- So how long did you apply the Latisse before you started to see the results?

And one tube of Latisse lasted 5 months? Or is that for the Revitalash?

I considered doing the every other night too, but didn't know if I could start with that right away or after a few months of using it (Latisse). If I can start every other night in the beginning, I will give it a go!

Still shame on me for not doing my research first before buying! I guess I got caught up in the moment of excitement of having these lushes lashes

Thanks Luna, that is great to know, I will be more careful when applying it.

I am going to start my Lumigan experiment tonite!

I just got my 3 ml vial of Lumigan from AllDayChemist! It was $12USD and is the Allergan brand. It came in a sealed box and the vial was also factory- sealed. It only took 2 weeks from the time I placed the online order til the time I got it.

I live in USA and had to sign for it at the PO. It came all packaged in a muslin- and plastic-wrapped Tupperware box with the drugs inside. (I felt like I was smuggling marijuana - it truly looked like a "kilo", if you know what I mean....)

So far so good, and no Viagra spam either as some ppl have had in the past ordering from there. S&H is $24.90USD, so it pays to order a good quantity of products from them. I ordered 7 tubes of Retin-A 0.05% 20 g at $2each I believe, plus some Taz, and of course, the Lumigan.

Wish I had ordered my usual Rx med which they have at an unbelievably decent price. Come on USA drug companies: why are you gouging us????
