F&W products are not effective. They make vague & ridiculous claims & their ADS (in India & other parts of Asia) are patently racist & offensive. They reinforce, exaggerate & perpetuate colour related prejudices. The product is made by Western cosmetics giant Unilever: yes, the same people who make Dove & are selling self-esteem, self-acceptance & 'real' beauty to Western women of all colours. There is nothing 'Ayurvedic' about them as they claim. If Ayurvedic medicine could really depigment like that, nobody would have colour they didn't want! Watch the Fair & white Ads on You Tube to see what I mean.

Hey Gamecock
our very own member 'Jose' has his own success story and with evidence!

You can find it by typing in
" My gift to those with uneven " and the rest will show up.
Best of luck to you as I also look to lighten my skin but am having very little success lol

I am getting great steady results &, as Proscons suggests, I did order the soap Jose uses (I ordered mine on ebay.ca) but it hasn't arrived yet. If you want to see the ads on Youtube as they aired on TV in India & Malaysia, just go to youtube & type Fair & Lovely fairness cream into the search bar & hit GO. There are at least 6 of them on there. You will be shocked. A company could NEVER air something that patently false & offensive in North America or Europe. The so-called 'dark' girl in each ad is actually decidedly fairer than most Indians before she allegedly
uses the cream. In one ad, she is flat out mocked by fair (bleached white)women when she appears with her father. HE gives her the bleach cream (allegedly he's some Ayurveda guy
) instead of defending his daughter & standing up for her against rude racist *****es. She returns later, as light as the racists are & they are in awe of her. She abandond traditional Indian dress for 'western' clothing & magically becomes rich & famous.

In another as, a woman literally 'walks out' of her dark skin becoming fairer with every step (THAT is a fast acting cream!
) . The sad thing is that the most vulnerable & poor women (usually they are quite dark skinned too) who can least afford it will be wasting their money on this scam. Anyone else would see right through the manipulation. As much as I want lighter skin (& I'm getting it!
) I am not going to buy just anything based on fancy websites, slick ads or packaging or crazy claims.

I use the Likas Papaya soap. Since I use RA, an acidic soap was too much for me & the kojic acid irritated me. Try using HQ4% & RA. Please read La Donna's thread 'From Lauryn to Mariah' for a detailed description about this regimen. The soaps work mainlt by exfoliating away dead skin cells that have built up on yr skin. Then, your lightening creams will absorb more readily.

As for the soaps, you can definitely lighten w/o using them. It is a matter of preference. i like the clean canvas I get with the Likas. Since it is so cheap, if you buy it & end up not liking it, you haven't lost much.

HQ4%/RA does NOT produce permanent lightening. Once you reach yr desired colour, you reduce usage to the minimum required to maintain it. Even mono20% & HQ20% do not produce permanent results in everyone. Many people must use a maintenance regimen in order to keep their colour as they like it.

Most people's blotchiness & unevenness can be readily fixed with these creams. THe best route is to use them on the darker areas first, for a while, in order to make them blend in with the rest o/t skin. Then, you can decide whether to remain as you are with yr nice even skin or to lighten either a little or a lot.

dont bother, I had the same question about a similar product and then members here informed me that its ineffective because when HQ and Retinol is comibned into a soap, it gets exposed to air instantly and the HQ turns really brown and useless while the retinol doesnt stay on your skin long enough to make a difference. They cover up the BROWN HQ with the black coloring of the soap.
