Hi ya, I read today how you should really use a cream to help unblock pores, because using all these anti aging creams can block them!! Is this true or is just steaming and exfoliating your face enough to stop this from happening in first place!!

If I do need a cream can someone recommend me a good one please thanks

I would go with the exfoliating and using a product with glycolic acid, fruit acids or salicylic acid. I would exfoliate at least twice a week and if I had clogged pores/blackheads use a cleansing product/toner with the suggested acids. What you want to do is get your face really clean and bacteria free.

Just taking a quick sneak.. actually I am in my lunch time

NY, I couldn't resist answering your question. I've heard a lot about aspirin mask and read some good reviews on this product. It is good for blackheads , minimizing large pores and acne prone skin. You can give it a go. I've myself started a thread on this home-made mask but haven't tried it yet but once I've tried it, I keep u all posted on its effectiveness.

If anyone want to learn more on the famous aspirin mask, try googling it. You can get the recipe in this way.

Hope this information is useful to you!

We've mentioned acidic washes and peels, and of course there are strips, but are there any essential oils that can be used on the skin to improve the condition of pores - clean 'em, shrink 'em?

Also, I have a vial of Eucalyptus oil that I bought because I love the scent. Sometimes I put a dab on a light fixture and it really makes the room smell good. Are there any skin care uses for it?

Finally, what would be a nice oil to use as a massage on the face - just to envigorate the skin and wake it up? Is it used straight or does it have to be mixed with something?

I have never used oils but am curious about them and don't know where to start. Thanks so much for your help.

Christiecrest thanks for info Im always interested in new products so Il def check it any info you have for me im always interested so thanks again!

Im gonna do the asprin mask today it says do this 2 times a week for 2 weeks but after this your skin will most probably get used to it so I will prob get a gylonical wash to use after this If everyone thinks its a good idea as feel like I need to maintain something to keep pores unclogged, or is the asprin mask ok to use long term?

Mirecka Im using RoseHip Oil, JoJo Oil and Almon use but are these still ok while pores are bad or can oils make these worse? Im still only using my once a week though! However I do like Emu Oil too! Not used this on face though! Fawnie Idea with Rosehip and water is a good one too as hydrates skin and is better than using it like I was with your moisturizer!!

I am definately doing the aspirin mask once a week for long-term use. This is coz my skin is sensitive. I always do mask once or twice at most weekly. Anyway, pls follow what's best for your skin type, NY. Everybody' skin is so different and may respond differently.
I've read online that rosehip , jojo n almond oils are all good for dry skins. They are very moisturising. You can also try grapeseed oil I heard some very good reviews on this one.

Thanks Mushi for advice I have clay masks and never really done much for skin that iv noticed anyway but I like all types of mask anyway, put some tea tree oil in the face mask is my tip of the day and unlike myself if you can take lemon lemon and yoghurt face masks are great for pores and age or brown spots!!

I tried the asprin mask did make my face smooth and soft but not sure if helps with pores, was thinking though Il try it not next two weeks like they say!! Cant do any harm!!

Pumi you should be careful doing asprin mask every week as cant your skin get used to these things after a while!!
You should try the yoghurt mask one day my skin loves this if not with lemon try with honey or aloe vera however lemon is best for spots thats if your skin can handle it
Personally I Like doing mask once a week and Clinique turnaround concentrate once mask once a week too!!

I like using oils too for their purity and beautiful fragrance. MountainRoseHerbs is a fine seller and has excellent quality pure oils. Here is some info about facial oils. I like to use straight rosehip seed oil which she also carries. Oils are nice on skin that is slightly moistened with mineral water!
I try to avoid ordering things that have to be shipped over the border. Too bad - but it's just not worth the hassle for most things.

So I went to my local health food store today (called "Noah's" - cute, eh?) and picked up a bottle of rosehip seed oil - and can't wait to try it out. It smells great! I think that I'm going to get hooked on these oils fast.

Are any of the oils useful for cleaning out and shrinking pores? I'd like to find a natural remedy for that too.

Thanks for your help.

Am thining of buying something with gylonical acid in it as well as the asprin hopping combination of two will be better for me, any thoughts on this though are always welcome!?
NY - be careful! The glycolic acid is an acid (obviously) but so are the aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) and the vitamin C (ascorbic acid). You don't want to end up with a chemical burn on your face. It seems that these things need to be spaced out somehow, but maybe you already know that.
